I can't tell Ron to not ask out Celeste.
First off, he'd immediately be suspicious as to why. Second, I know Ron. He will most definitely overreact.
But I still have that gut feeling about Celeste. Something about her is just... off.
And as his best friend, he deserves to know how I feel about the girl he wants to ask out.
I don't know. Does he?
"Hey! Almost ready for bed?" Ron asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. He leaned against his door frame in a white T-shirt and his gray pajama pants, which had a prominent hole near where his right kneecap was. His red hair was just slightly more messy than usual, and I had to do my best to not grin stupidly.
He looked really good, and he stood there confidently, like he knew it too.
He raised his eyebrows while awaiting my response, and I suddenly became aware that I was staring at him for way too long.
"Uh, yeah. Just..." I trailed off, darting my eyes around the room in search of my own pajamas. "Just about to get changed."
"Okay," he shrugged, waltzing into the room casually with his hands in his pockets. "Hurry up. It's Christmas Eve, I want to get to bed early."
"I'm hurrying," I responded as he rolled his eyes and began fidgeting with something over on his dresser while he was facing the opposite way.
I changed quickly and noticed Ron was still toying with something small in his hands, and he was hovered over it intently.
"What are you holding?" I asked, approaching him from behind to peer over his shoulder.
"Nothing!" he exclaimed spastically, wrapping his fingers around the object and enclosing it in his palm. "Nothing," he repeated.
"Ron, what is it!" I cried, trying to grab his hand. He lifted his arm so that it was straight up in the air and looked down at me smugly, grinning from ear to ear.
"Why won't you tell me?" I sighed, not even bothering to try and fight him anymore.
"It's not that important, really," he shrugged, placing the object carefully in the drawer in his bed side table. "You'll see tomorrow. It's a present for someone."
"Oh," I replied quietly, giving up on the topic.
"So," he announced loudly, changing the subject. "Ready?" he asked, pulling the covers back and climbing into his bed.
I nodded and slowly crawled in next to him as he began laughing while watching me. "What?" I cried.
"You're so awkward about this," he laughed, rolling on his side to face me and propping his head up by leaning on his elbow. "You act like we haven't been best friends for years."
"I am not being awkward," I shot back, silently thankful the lights were off so he couldn't see me grinning like an idiot.
"Whatever," he grinned, shrugging before rolling over to face the other way. "Night, y/n. See you on Christmas."
"See you on Christmas," I sighed.

"Wake up! Wake up!" exclaimed Ron early the next morning, shaking me vigorously and bouncing up and down on the bed. "It's Christmas!"
"Okay, I'm up, I'm up!" I cried as he continued shaking me, his mouth pressed into a wide grin. "Is everyone else awake?"
"I don't know. Let's go find out," he said excitedly, rushing me out of bed and through the doorway.
