The next morning, there was that familiar urgent pounding on my door. I barely had to be awake to know who it was.
"Open up!" Ron exclaimed, now tugging on the locked door handle impatiently.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I replied, standing up groggily and trudging over to the door to let him in. "Merlin, why so early today?" I asked, finishing the sentence with a yawn.
"Because, I've got big things to do at breakfast," he said quickly, practically bouncing up and down. "Now, get ready. And don't take all day."
"Okay," I sighed, rubbing my eyes and slowly making my way over to my dresser to pick out my robes.
"Faster than that," Ron said in between deep breaths, running over to my dresser and stepping in front of me to pick out my outfit for me. He threw my robes in my face and closed up the drawer, turning around to face me still in my pajamas. "I'm sure you can do the rest yourself," he said, smirking down at my Great Britain flag pajama pants.
"Shut up," I shot, motioning for him to turn around while I sleepily changed into my clothes for the day. "What's so important that I have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn for it?"
"You'll see," grinned Ron as he turned around, glancing at the untied tie that hung over my shoulders. "I'll tie that for you later. Just brush your teeth."
"Okay, okay," I replied as he shoved me across the room to retrieve my toothbrush.
He was practically jumping off the walls as I brushed my teeth slower than usual, just to see him freak out. He almost left without me, but I assured him I'd go at a normal speed.
"Finally," he breathed as I put down my toothbrush, grabbing my arm and yanking me out of my room.
He dragged me all the way to the Great Hall where breakfast was taking place. It's been so long since I've been awake for breakfast, I'd forgotten what it was like.
"Come on," he urged, nodding over to where Hermione and Harry sat at the Gryffindor table. I rolled my eyes and trailed after him.
He took a seat next to Harry while I sat across from him next to Hermione, both of whom looked at me surprised. "What a treat seeing you up this early!" jeered Harry. I squinted my eyes and smiled at him mockingly.
Ron was looking down at the other end of the table, his eyes scanning the other Gryffindor students like he was looking for someone.
"What was so important that I had to attend breakfast?" I whispered, leaning across the table.
"No idea," Hermione shrugged, studying Ron's urgent searching. "Ronald, what's going on?"
"Shh," he said, holding up a finger to us as he continued to move his head in search of someone's
"Who are you looking for-" I began, but he leaned across the table to press his finger against my lips and shush me once more.
"Shh!" he scolded, shaking his head up and down urgently before turning back to look.
Hermione laughed as I batted Ron's hand away. Suddenly, he found who he was looking for, because he relaxed his expression and sunk back into his seat.
"You got this, mate," Harry said, patting him on the back encouragingly as Ron took a deep breath and stood up from the bench now.
"Thanks," he said quietly, walking down to the other end of the table.
"What's he doing?" Hermione and I asked Harry simultaneously, watching as he approached a group of girls sheepishly.
"Getting a date to the ball," Harry scoffed, sitting up to get a better view of the scene.
