Hope you like it! Also, this is one of those fics where May is dead. (Sorry, plot reasons!)
TW: Suicide. Extremely angst-filled. Read at your hearts risk.
Peter's POV
Shit, shit, shit. I was so late. On the way to school, a gunfight broke out down the street. Of course, being the neighbourhood Spiderman, I decided to go fix it. Three guys were now in custody of the police, and I had missed the maths test that was supposed to be today.
"How could you be so careless." Mr Stark groaned, after hearing I'd scored zero. "I told you, you need to focus on your education, okay? Not being some vigilante."
I nod my head, feeling extremely pathetic. Last year, after May died in a car crash, Mr Stark had fought for my custody. Of course, he'd won, so I lived at the Avengers compound now.
"Well, I need to go, kid." Mr Stark sighed, walking away, probably to his next meeting.

I was scribbling hastily in my science book, trying to understand what the formula was. I'd barely gotten any sleep, mostly because I'd spent the night out as Spiderman, but also because of nightmares. The ones with Uncle Ben, May and my parents. The same one that haunted me on most nights.
Since I was on the brink of passing out from exhaustion, I had taken a nap in class. I didn't mean to, of course, but my eyes felt heavy, and within seconds, my head had dropped and I was fast asleep.
It was the same thing that happened for the last six lessons. I'd missed alot. I knew I was always great at science, but that was when it was about making formulas for webs and stuff.
I had no idea what we were meant to know about redox and electrochemistry, but considering I'd missed so much, I knew it would take a long time before I caught up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An hour later, I was still were I began, not understanding a thing. I groaned in frustration and slammed the book shut. The last thing I wanted to do was ask Mr Stark for help, since I'd have to explain why I was so behind. I couldn't bear to hear the dissapointment dripping out of his voice, or the exasperated looks from the rest of the Avengers.
The door to my room opened, and there stood Wanda. "Hey Peter. You know, it'd ne nice to help around in the kitchen."
"Oh, sure." I replied, picking up my pen again.
Wanda raised her eyebrows and looked at me. "Ooohhhh. You mean, like, now. Okay."
I got up from the desk and walked after her to the kitchen. I didn't know how I was supposed to catch up on so much school work, be Spiderman and help around the compound, but I'd have to figure it our soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As everyone got seated around the table, I began eating the pie helped Wanda and Vision make. It was really good.
"So, Pete, how was school?" Aunt Nat asks me.
"Yeah... err, great." I reply, not looking up from my food.
Uncle Steve looks at me intently. "Have you been getting enough sleep?" He finally asks. Shit, he was onto me.
"Yeah. Of course." I answer, playing with the food in my plate. Uncle Steve raises my eyebrows.
"Well, the circles under your eyes beg to differ." He points out. No, no, no. Pay no attention to this, guys. If the others realised I'd been staying out all night, they'd blow their shit.
"What do you mean, staying out all night?" Wanda questions.
...
Stupid telapathy powers...
"You've been what!" Mr Stark yells, confusion pouring over his face. I don't answer, spinning the fork absent-mindedly in my hand.
"Peter." Mr Stark says sternly.
"I- I go out as Spiderman at night." I mumble. It's quiet, but not so much so that they can't hear me.
"Why didn't you tell us! This is why your grades are going down so fast!" Uncle Steve yells.
"You know better than that." Aunt Nat puts in, sighing in dissapointment. Wanda shakes her head and says nothing, but I can tell she's angry.
And I don't blame her. Because I'm the one who's not good enough.
