It was the night of the ball, everyone that was going was exited all day, including you. Especially compared to yesterday. You were thinking that it might be weird between you and Draco after everything that has happened this month but you were still happy that you're were going with him. It was even hard to believe yourself.
You were getting ready for the ball and you knew exactly how you would do your makeup, hair, and you had bought your dress ages ago. Your dress was a dark red, off the shoulder dress with a black belt that was supposed to look like vines without leaves, and the bottom went down to the floor and was flowy. You had done a dark red, black and gold eyeshadow look and did the rest how you would normally do it. Your hair had two small braids that you pulled to the back and tied together with a small elastic, and the rest was in loose curls. Then your shoes were matte black heels with the small strap where your toes start, and one that went up the back of your heel then around the area above your ankle. Lastly, your nails were all painted matte black with one gold chrome. Then of course you had on your normal silver rings and the normal dainty silver necklace with a small star on it.
You walked to the Great Hall with Hermoine she looked amazing, and you just talked about how you both had to do the opening dance and were scared even though you knew you shouldn't be. Once you got there you separated and looked for your dates. You found Draco and when he looked up to see you he looked like he never wanted to take his eyes off you. Both of you got behind Cedric and Cho shortly after that and then followed them. "You look beautiful by the way." He whispers in your ear, and you blush a little bit. Then before you knew it you started dancing, he was a very good dancer, he had rhythm, and was, delicate? You didn't know the word for it but it was as if he was a feather dancing in the wind. Light. That was the word. It was fun dancing with him and you normally don't like to dance.
"Do you want to go for a walk to the courtyard?" Draco asks once you stop dancing. "Sure" He holds out his hand and you take it. Once you get to the courtyard you both sit down next to each other. He looks at your rings. "I don't think I've ever seen you take this off." He points to a silver ring that spiraled around part of your finger, and had a small blue stone on it. He was right you, normally rotate between rings but you never take this one off. "Why?" You pull away your hand from him to look at the ring. "The stone can absorb some curses." You look up and straight forward, and you see him look at you confused in the corner of your eye. "Really? Which ones?" You look at him. "How would I know? No one has ever tried to do anything to me sense I bought it last year." You say. "Oh. Well I guess that's a good thing?" You chuckle a little. "I am going to say yes." He looks away from you and looks like he's thinking about saying something. "Ok um," he sounds nervous, "I was wondering if you would like to be my girlfriend?" That was the most exiting thing you'd heard all night and you had heard a lot of things. "Of course." You say as you try to contain your excitement. He hugs you and you hug him back.
You walk back to the Great Hall a few minutes later and Draco grabs some drinks while you take a seat. You see Harry and Ron sitting alone at a table and you wondered were their dates went. Draco walks over to you moments later with two drinks in his hand and hands you one. "Thank you." You take a sip of it. "Your welcome." He smiles and takes a sip.
It was a little while later and you had only talked to Draco all night. You were looking for Hermoine but you didn't see her anywhere. After ten minutes of looking for her you stopped, and you couldn't find Harry or Ron either. You sighed as you sat down. "You couldn't find them?" You look at Draco then back to a window. "No. I'm going to go to bed though." You got up and kissed his forehead. "Goodnight" you both say and you go up to your dorm.
You hold your wrist with the scar on it tightly. It hadn't hurt this badly in ages and you wish you knew why.
