With the time I came by more often. Everyone got more used by my presence. I brought from time to time lunch with myself for the lab. Even Levi started getting better along with me. I didn't expected nor asked for it. It just happened with the months that passed by.

Hanji and I managed to keep our relationship that way it was. They started coming by from time to time while I started coming by to the Survey Corps bringing mostly Hanji and their squad some food. I noticed they often stopped with coming by to eat anything.

The trainees out of the 104th had joined the scout Regiment and so had the attack on Trost taken place. On that day were I was reunited with so many familiar faces I was so unbelievably happy. Many things had happened the loss of the soldiers on the 57th expedition.

Then Hanji came by way rarely than usual same with me. I knew they were working on who killed the Titans. That was a point where I supported them until late night to get the tears out of their face.

I was sitting with them in my bed, since they got some days free. I had my attention all the time on them. I tried cheering them up with some gentle hugs and jokes that were so stupid that people would laugh about them cause they were so bad.

From the female Titan destroying the whole inner walls to the betrayal that the government announced from the Survey Corps, I was still by their side. We went trough thick and thin.

No matter how much less time they had for me they always found a way. We wrote each other letters about the days we spent alone in company of other people.

I pursed my lips as I sat with Hanji in her labor. The birds chirped on the outside. While the window separated us from the green outside I smiled.

As I looked away from the sight I fell directly into Hanji's eyes. They went over to me hugging myself from the back. They pecked my lips from upon me. They let their chin fell on my shoulder.

Those days were the best for me.

While we all were with our emotions somewhere else the Survey Corps were in front of going trough the big mission outside of the walls to get wall Maria back.

Everyone cheered so loud it kept surprising me now. I screamed something at Hanji too. "COME BACK HEALTHY AND WELL OR I'M GONNA KILL YOU A SECOND TIME IN OUR AFTERLIFE TOGETHER!" They seemed to notice and started laughing. I was feeling amused by their own little behavior

I saw how they got irritated looks from Levi and Moblit. Out of my eyesight I saw how Moblit had started trying to hold Hanji back. As they had disappeared out of my eyesight I went back home. Waiting that they would come back in safe and sound.

Levi close behind them as they entered the quiet HQ. The hallways were silent, just the breaths of these two were able to be heard. They're footsteps echoing in them.No one else was to be heard, there was no one else. The corridors that were filled with cries and shouting or just random laughters were now gone.

As the brunette reached the office that was in sight they felt strange. A hole in their stomach didn't stopped them of fearing they wouldn't fit. There was so much going on in their mind, they couldn't decide on what to think about first.

This felt as if it didn't belonged them as if thy simply didn't fit the position. As Hanji reached for the handle their hand was shaking. In their shadow Levi noticed it, but kept quiet. The brunette opened the door to walk into the office. Maps were surrounding the, documents and more. This ight was so used for their chocolate brown eyes, but now it felt just different. They were now the Commander.

They continued letting their fingers stroking over books that were in the room. Until they reached the desk where they sat themselve on the chair right behind it. Levi stood in front of them, raising a brow. "And how does it feel?" he questioned them. They cuckled at his statement.

"It does feel.." they trailed off, "as if it's a big burden I'll have to carry, somehow I'm not even that sure this feels like I'm not fitting for this big job." They said expressing a unsure laugh. The hand that was rubbing the back of the head had been lowering itself fast. Their laugh faded only seconds later as their eyes fell on the papers.

A sigh escaped Hanji lips, facing Levi. The short dark haired man wasn't giving any attention to any of this right now. His attention had fallen on a map that was hanging on the left side of the office. "You miss him much, don't you?" They looked them in the eyes. In his eyes was so much pain.

Silent.

This was the most painful silence they had felt in a while. Of course he was important to him. They remebered how Levi went from hating him to someone he was trusting the most. This bondwas truly special, but even now they were missing something. Not just him, but also her, you - Y/n L/n.

Hanji's attention had stopped working. Levi kept looking at them, "Four eyes," he spoke up stern, their eyes met his. "You miss her don't you?" he questioned, "go already." He said while he was crossing his arms. His eyes were straight on them. Their eyes were wide, they couldn't put any belief in what he was saying.

They were confused, more than they should. They looked at him, "What.. Levi--I have still paperwork." they told him.

"I do it for you, I know that you need her most right now." Hanji nodded thankful and left the room.

A knock on the door appeared, the young woman lightened up, "coming!" you were going towards the door. Your face had a very light expression, it was a nice watch to see. As you saw the figure you dropped the book you had been holding seconds before.

You stopped in all your tracks, standing there without any words in your throat. Their eye met your own ones. There was a stare between both of you. The sight was beautiful, just silent, but that was alright. You felt as if you weren't able to let any words slide. You should be fine, but you weren't really.

Before you even noticed you held your hand in front of your mouth. Your eyes had fallen into a soft gaze, they were looking beautiful, so unique. You felt the wet cheeks that were warm, at the same time coolen down by the wetness. Heavy sobbing escaping your mouth. A warm wonderful smile appearing as your hand lowered.

You went towards them, only some inches departing you two. You looked them in the chocolate eye. As long as they returned safe and sound for this conditions you didn't care about it. That was still the same Hanji you had met. The non-binary cherry, very, very, curious Titan scientist.

"Hello my love, guess who's back."

You gently exchenged a sweet kiss. The kiss wasn't long, still enough to express your love for them. You fell into a long comfortable hug with them. You muffled your head in their chest as you held your arms around them.

Between you and Hanji wasn't sexual pleasure necessarary. You were caring about each other truly. For Hanji meant this the world and so for you. Their heartbeat had been increased as they saw you. Since the first time they saw you, not love at first sight, but the smile a exctitement they were holding in them whenever they had seen you. For both of you the way you had kept the way was perfect.

You needed no hero, the only hero in your eyes that you wanted by your side was them. It didn't mattered if it would be just friends or in a relationship. This was Hanji, they were caring so much about you as much as you did about them, no matter what you would stick by each other. Hanji knew it would barely change anything between you two if you weren't in a relationship . Even if both of you woudn't have worked out for that long, after some time you would stuck by their side.

A sweet smile appeared on your face. "Your visits are sweeter than the raspberry cake." You nodded looking in their eye you knew in that moment how much you missed them. "Truly."
