The midday sun started shining through the windows. It reflected in some indescribable way, when it hung high above, it shone the brightest. I liked the comfort of the sun rays warmness when it showed me its brightness so easily.
The simple rays falling into my face felt like the warmth in embraces of my mother.
Whenever I would find myself back in her comforting arms, I'd feel the warm sensation those sun rays gave me. Comforted and calm in her touch, when I'd feel upset or hurt, she'd be there. No matter how minor the problems I went through were, she respected them.
Even if it was indeed, blinding me and restricting me in the eyes, the sun was beautiful. In some way, it was a parallel to the nostalgia I felt when skimming through these childhood days.
This day, in certain ways, was one I kept in my memories as extraordinary—just like them.
Although it didn't appear to fall out of the pattern, wiping the dirt from the counter, cleaning the ground and tables. While the kids were playing inside of wall Rose, I was cleaning here my cafe. I just watched them put of the corner of my eyes. Making me smile as I thought back to my childhood days. Where I had been the type of kid that was so often outside my parents had to force me inside.
The latest Titan attacks years before got us all into something. Many still grieved about those found their end there. I— as for my losses, I had non, which was personally my luck on that one.
I was extremely grateful each day I was able to life.
My mood couldn't be better. Somehow a thought, mode like— melody jumped in my head. Before I realized it, I was humming to myself a small tune. Filled with one or two voice cracks, but those were not something I looked after at all. Just the fun was what counted to me.
I corrected my apron gently. I didn't think of anything bad as I let my orbs wander through the room. When it hit me— that one table sticked out.
Giving me the most disgust I've felt in a while. It was indeed my job to clean, up but they certainly could've stopped leaving those leftovers that inhuman there. I sighed and went over to get some gloves. As I pulled them over my fingers, I felt the texture on them.
I took my time cleaning up after the mess. Taking the plates, washing the whole mess off. My face didn't move an inch while— on the inside, I felt disgusted.
I took them back to the counter and got rid of the trash as well as the dirty plates.
After that my eyes wandered around in the the room, satisfied finally. There was no flaw in sight— or at least non a customer could complain about. The big windows were decorated with curtains which I added some personal flair to. I went over to the tables where I had something special in mind.
Now entering my normal routine while midday. No one was usually stopping by at this time. The whole time it felt as if only ghosts had went through the streets and left no evidence of their presence. After falling deep into a kind of darkness in my mind, I returned to focusing on myself. I put on every single one a flower inside of a vase. My lips curled into a smile.
I opened went the door starting to clean the windows. While I grabbed the wet rag I continued humming. I used to do it often since it was like a kind of calmed me or got me in a better mindset. Which was if I might add very useful if you would live in a cruel world locked in between walls which held you back like a bird in a cage.
