//for the person on Twitter that i have just met; i hope we can get to know each other better and that your 2021 isn't too horrible //
Lance had always like sewing; even though he never expressed his love for it. It was something he didn't feel like telling many people, but when you were stuck in a castle in the middle of space because you have to fly around in rainbow-colored lions to save the universe, it was kind of hard to keep secrets, the ones that were secret hobbies being the hardest.
Pretty much everyone knew about Lance's love for sewing, so he thought that he way as well make some things for them, with the help of the space mice.
If he already didn't feel like he was in a fairytale movie when he was flying around a robot lion, he sure as hell did now as he worked on making various clothing items for his friends, feeling like Cinderella, and that feeling only brightened with the mice helping.
It was strange, to be honest. When he first got into sewing, he never thought that he would be making clothing items in space with a bunch of multi-colored mice. He never really thought he would be able to do anything with his hobby, but space seemed to prove him wrong on that one. When he had free time, he always sewed, and his progress was showing brightly. He was getting better, a lot better.
Some things were a lot easier to make than others, like how he had made about 20 headbands for Hunk and 15 scrunchies for Allura, not caring if she didn't truly understand the point of them. Clothes took a little longer to make, so he didn't make them too often, but he had found some solid colored t-shirts of all the paladins and cut them apart, sewing them together to be like Voltron- the main part of the shirt being black, a red sleeve, a green sleeve, then lines for blue and yellow at the bottom. This was the thing Lance had the most fun making, and if he didn't get the disapproving space dad glare from Shiro after taking all of the shirts, he would have done it more.
At the moment, Lance was working on making pride flag t-shirts for everyone, each of them having a, well, pride flag on it.
There were a few rainbow flag ones; one for Shiro, Coran, and Keith, then a Pansexual one for Hunk, Ace for Pidge, the Bi for himself and Allura. He had to make the flag-shirts out of scraps of leftover fabrics, so the shirts were patchy and a little weird looking, but they also looked cool, like a patchwork quilt.
Lance sighed, setting down the needle he was using to hand sew everything, waving his hand around. He hated hand sewing, but he was in the middle of space with no sewing machine, so there wasn't really much that could be done about it.
Lance took off Pidge's headphones, of which he had borrowed and never given back to his friend, setting them down next to the pile of fabrics and standing up, stretching. He had been at work for a while and thought he deserved a break.
The mince trailed at his feet as he walked out of his room, looking around the hallway, checking to make sure no one was up, then walked to the kitchen as silently as he could, just to see Pidge sitting on the counter, hunched over her computer, which seemed to be connected to various items and appliances.
"Pidge? What are you d-"
"Nope, just ignore me" She interrupted, waving a finger at Lance. "If anyone asks, I was not here," she said, closing her computer and hopping down from the counter, pulling the wires that were connected to their computer and the appliances off, shoving them in their bag. "Oh, you probably came here to get something, didn't you"
"Yeah, its a kitchen, that's what its for-"
"here," Pidge said, throwing a chocolate bar at Lance, "Don't touch anything!" she said, running off, leaving a confused Lance to stare down at the chocolate bar and to wonder what the hell his little gremlin friend had done.

The space mice scurried around, branding the fabrics into color-coded piles so that Lance could easily grab them to sew them together. One mouse was chewing at some of the fabric pieces that were bigger, making them more jagged and smaller.
Lance looked down at the fabric piles, noticing that he wasn't going to have enough purple to make all the flags, seeing as almost all of them had purple in them. "Hey... can you guys do something for me?" the devilish smirk on Lance's face didn't leave as the mice scattered around, lining up in front of him. "I need you to get something for me...."

Lance knew that what he needed had been gotten when he heard Shiro yelling, and he couldn't hold back his laughter. The mice came running in, a huge piece of purple fabric trailing behind them.
"LANCE GIVE ME THAT BACK!"
"ITS TORN NOW, YOUVE GOT NO USE FOR IT! THANKS FOR THE DONATION!" Lance said, slamming his room's door closed, not caring if he had awoken anyone. "it's for a good cause" he said, tearing apart the fabric and putting it in a pile, "he'll be thankful.... hopefully"
