"Midoriya? I-Is that you?"
He held a finger to his lips and kept drawing closer to me.
"Yes, but keep your voice down. I'm not supposed to be here, but I couldn't wait any longer." His tone was different, and I could barely see his face. The moonlight was the only thing lighting us up.
"I missed you, Y/N." I felt his warm hand against my cheek, and I looked at his eyes. They weren't brimming with light anymore. They were dark, and he wasn't even blushing.
He's usually nervous when we're alone.
"Are you okay? You're acting different." I took a step back despite wanting to keep feeling the warmth of his hand on my cheek. He kept drawing closer. "I'm great! I was so worried about you, but now that I know you're here, I don't have to worry. I wanted to see you and make sure you were alright. You look beautiful."
Something's not right.
"How did you even know where I was. Why are you here alone? How did you get here without anyone not-"
He placed a finger over my lips shushing me. "You ask too many questions. Aren't you just glad that I'm here? Is this not enough for you?" His voice was breaking a little.
"No! I missed you! I missed you so much! I want to do better for you! Thanks to your words, I've been able to push forward. I really did miss you."
"Then why are you suspicious of me! Isn't all that matters that I'm here for you! I'm risking my life for you right now."
The words were being spat out of his mouth. I felt so small next to him. Like his body was looming over mine.
This doesn't seem right. What is this new feeling? I usually feel so warm around him.
I took a few steps back. "Midoriya. I think you should go back to UA now. You'll get in trouble." I was feeling my heart clench, and a wave of anxiety was pumping through me.
Oh. This feeling is called being scared.
He's scaring me."Now you're shoving me away? Don't you miss me? I'm here to bring you comfort. I'm here for you. I missed you."
What is this? He wouldn't say this.
"Well! Do you want me to leave!" His voice was growing louder, and I felt my knees getting weaker. "Say the word, Y/N. Tell me to leave again."
I was darting my eyes back and forth between his trying to see something. Something that would show me he's lying. That he's purposely trying to scare me, but I never saw any of that. They were harsh and cursing me. His eyes lost their spirit.
"I don't want you to go. I really did miss you, but please leave. I don't want to remember you like this. This isn't like you." My body was starting to feel heavier by the second.
"I'm the same as I was before. I just got tired of that shy innocent kid stuff. But since you aren't accepting of the real me, I'm leaving. It was stupid and pointless for me to come to see you. You were always ungrateful."
His words dug deep into my heart. Stabbing me from every angle.
"I just wanted to see you smile." I whispered to myself as I watched him fade into the black night.
I tumbled over my feet, heading back inside. "Dammit!" I screamed, slamming my fist on the ground, breaking the floor. My eyes were burning with the sensation of wanting to let out tears.
"What's wrong with you. Everyone is sleeping. Can you shut up?" Dabi rose from the couch and made his way towards me.
"Can I use you to vent?" I mumbled. I looked up to him, and he smirked. "Of course. But no holding back. You've kind of been pissing me off lately."
