*Happy New Year Everyone*
Soon the moss covered floor turned to stones forcing me to slow as my climb became steeper. Yet the scent continues to climb so I follow it, higher, and higher. If it wasn't for the seemingly never ending smell I might have lost hope of finding Alucard. Alucard's long sword bounced clumsily against my back unfortunately the magic of the sword doesn't work for anyone but Alucard.
My eyes shift as my nose gets slammed with dozens of scents each intertwining with each other, all of them wolves. My wolf started going crazy in my head pounding and howling. I had never smelled this many wolves before it was overwhelming.
Fuck! My last encounter with another wolf didn't end well. Stooping down I pull out my water pouch pouring the cool liquid onto the dusty ground mixing it together into a thick mud. I quickly smear the mud along both sides of my neck, behind my wolf ears, and around my wrists. Alucard had made sure to teach me well, after my violent encounter with Seb I had begun to dig deeper into my origin. The mud would help to cover my scent, not completely but enough to make me almost unnoticeable. I hope it's enough.
I force myself to slow down moving forward at no more than a snail crawl. Before me rose a high stone wall that touched into the sky almost blocking out starry night.
I felt the rough cold stone below my hands. I shifted quietly my glowing eyes scanning every inch of the wall trying to find some chink in it's walls. Nothing.
"Fuck!" growling frustratingly I dig my claws into hard stone, finding a hand hold I use my strength to fling myself straight upward. Grabbing another hand hold I continue to climb higher and higher. Don't look down, don't look down.
By the time my hand finally wraps around the top wall my muscles are screaming in protest. With a long groan I finally pulled myself over the edge collapsing on a smooth stone. I just wanted a damn vacation.
Leaning against the cool stone my eyes look out over an amazing sight. A huge castle lay stretched out before me built into the rock. Glowing lights of life filtered out through the windows, the smells of wolves filled my senses. My ears flinch picking up the echo sounds of boots on stone. Shit!
I quickly jump back over the wall catching the top. This is not where I expected to be. The footsteps grow closer until they are right above me until they stop.
Holding my breath I dig my claws deeper into the stone as I slowly pull myself up enough to see over the top.
A tall man stands on the other side, his head raised in the air smelling the scents. Large black ears protrude from his head, his eyes glowering a blood red in the black night. A wolf!
Trying to make myself as small as possible against the wall I hold my breath until he finally moves on.
Climbing back over the wall for a second time and starting my descent towards the castle of stone.
