My boots echo off the high ceiling bouncing off the walls of the castle. The long blood red curtains were shredded and covered in dust. This was not the castle I had run from a month and a half ago. It was dusty and abandoned.

"What the fuck happened to this place?" I whisper in shock, staring as the cobwebs in the corner.

"Alucard?!" calling his name I check in every room as I make my way through the huge castle. Maybe he is the Belmont hold but I can smell his scent here. Where is he?

With each room turning up empty I could feel my level of frustration and desperation rising. Where the fuck is he? I'm about to break a door down.

-----

After searching the ENTIRE castle top to bottom I end up in front of the last door I had broken down yet, Alucard's childhood room, the place he killed Dracula.

The old oak door creaked quietly on its hinges as I slowly stepped inside the dust covered room. The place was clearly made for a young child, the only thing standing out of place was a large high back chair placed in front of a dying fire. It's back was turned to me but I knew he was there. Everything that had happened in the last two months hit me like a night creature. Betrayal, pain, hate, sadness, guilt, anger, empty. I felt so lonely standing in the doorway, I just wanted to rush forward and grab him and never let go as if he might fade before me. All the pain and confusion of what happened just washed away leaving only the back of that chair. It seemed easier to just turn around and leave right now without taking another step forward. He was alive, that's all that really mattered. But my heart tugged at my chest urging me to take those few steps forward to trust that this was the right decision.

With each step the thought of just turning and leaving became stronger, struggling against two halves. But I just kept taking the next step until I came face to face with those golden eyes. Seeing him as if for the first time except this time we aren't trying to kill each other.

But Alucurd didn't see me back.
