The Strange Set

Chapter one: So It Begins

I opened my eyes as my alarm clock went off ,and was blinded by the sun. I rolled over and blinked a few times and turned off my alarm; It was 5:00 I got out of bed and went to my closet and pulled out my black skinny jeans and my Pokémon shirt. I walked to my bathroom and prepared for my shower I quickly plugged up the hair dryer and straightener and turned on the water. I looked at myself in the mirror and stared at a big bruise along the side of my face. I stepped into the shower and felt the water wash over me and winced as it hit my bruise, then the memories came flooding back.

When I was younger my mom was coming to pick me up from school and when she got me, we went to the store, and while we were inside there was a robbery and my mom gave her life to save mine . The most define thing I remember was staring down the barrel of a gun then my mom in front of me. Afterwords the man fled and I sat there horror stricken staring at my mom as the police and paramedics came. My dad showed up he didn't seem to pay any attention to me. When we got home he started drinking, and I went downstairs to ask him if he was ok; that was the first time he hit me. He's never here at the house anymore he only spends about a week a Month here; then he's gone. I don't know where he goes and frankly I don't care. I got out of the shower and looked at the clock. It was only 5:20 and school doesn't start til 7:45. I looked at my phone and plugged it up to my speaker and turned on music. As it blared through the house I went downstairs and poured me a bowl of cereal.

My breakfast was interrupted by my phone going off I received multiple texts from my friends, Alice and Lacey.

Alice: new kid alert he's hot hurry and get to school you need to see this I'll ttyl.

Lacey: hey there's a new kid he's cute like..really cute. I'll see ya here ttyl.

I laughed at their enthusiasm on a new hot guy and put my dishes away and looked at the clock it was 6:00 I decided to start some dishes. I put all the dishes in the dishwasher and started them up. I went back to my room and finished getting ready, I straightened my shoulder blade length black hair, put on my makeup, and found my skateboard, and went outside and skated down the road.

I stopped at a little coffee shop and got a cup of iced coffee and made my way to school when I was greeted my Alice and Lacey who grabbed me and my skateboard and shoved me inside the school.

"Look there he is." Alice whispered as a guy with a pointed face, dark hair, grey/green eyes, and a red leather trench coat walked out from the crowd.

"Woah.." I breathed out.

I'm not gonna lie he was hot...like REALLY hot, but there's no way in hell I would ever have a chance with him, and I knew it. The bell rang and I said bye to my friends and walked to my locker, getting pushed and shoved in the process, I finally made my way to the cold grey locker and opened it. Papers and razor blades poured out. The papers read 'emo' 'whore' 'no wonder your dad beats you' 'go die' and my favorite 'kill yourself'. I sighed as I saw the assistant principal round the corner, he saw the many blades on the floor and took me to the office to talk to him.

I sat in his office waiting for him to get done talking to the janitor. He made his way into his office and it was silent.

"Someone put the blades and notes in my locker sir I have no idea who." I said quietly and he nodded.

"OK here's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna check the camera near your locker and see who put stuff in your locker and their gonna be in trouble I'll take care of it ok?." He said giving a small smile. "Now I'll give you a pass and you can be on your way. Who do you have for first period?." He asked grabbing a pen and sticky note from his desk drawer. "Coach Raynes." I said as he scribbled it down and handed me the note. "Have a good day." He said as I nodded and left.
