The Strange Set

Chapter 5: Naven

I grabbed my suitcase and went to my closet and took out multiple pairs of clothes. Band shirts, skinny jeans, socks, pajamas, and underwear filled the case as I got a smaller bag. In it was my hair straightener, my brush, makeup, tooth brush and toothpaste.  I slid the small bag into the suitcase and zipped it up, grabbing my 3Ds and my chargers with it.

I walked downstairs to see Nolan laying on the couch. 'How long was I packing?' I thought to myself, thinking he was asleep. "Nolan?" I asked as he bolted straight up. "What?!...don't scare me like that. " He said holding his head. "Sorry." I said giggling at him. He stood up grabbing my suitcase from me and throwing the jacket at me.

We walked to the door as I was zipping my jacket up. Nolan opened the door and snow fluttered in. We quickly walked out and I closed and locked the door, pulling my jacket close to me.  " I don't see how your not freezing your ass off." I said shivering under the cold jacket. "I stay warm in freezing weather that's just how I am." He said walking into the snow covered road.
I shook my head as we walked to his house when Nolan stopped.

There was a car in the driveway now and his mother's car was in the garage the car was parked next to Nolans and was the same model and brand, just reversed colors. I looked at Nolan to see him smiling.
We started walking again faster than before. "There's someone you have to meet." He said grabbing my hand and pulling me towards the house.

As soon as we got up onto the front porch the door opened to show a guy with
Dark brown eyes, glasses, a black trench coat cloaked lightly with snow, same facial structure of Nolan. And slightly lighter hair than Nolan.  "Hi." He said smiling at me and Nolan. "Kitti, this is my brother, Naven."  "Kitti? Interesting name. How much did you pay her Nolan?" Naven asked smirking.  "Huh? Pay her? What do you mean? " Nolan said looking at me and I looking confused. "You had to have payed her something, a pretty girl like her wouldn't  be hanging out with you otherwise. " He said laughing causing me to blush, since I'm not used to being called 'pretty'.

Naven moved so we could walk through the door and Nolan took my stuff up to his room.  I took the jacket off and shivered at how cold the house was. "Oh yeah, I'll go turn on the generator so you don't freeze to death." Naven said opening the door to the basement when Nolan came back downstairs and grabbed a screwdriver "I'll help him." He said following behind him.

I followed behind Naven closing the basement door behind us and walking downstairs to the generator. "So-" I said looking at Naven. "what do you think of her?"
"I think she's very nice. Would make nice dinner to." He said as I grabbed him by the throat. "Don't ever say that again." I said, my eyes turning red. "Oh please, brother I was merely joking with you I wouldn't eat her." He said causing me to release him, my eyes going to normal color again. " You better be. She doesn't know about us and if you lay a finger on her consider you dead...again " I said turning on the generator and hearing the weather on the tv come on.

We walked back upstairs to see Kitt sitting on the couch looking at the tv watching storm chasers again. I sat down next to her, and Naven next to me. "So Naven where have you been the last day or so?" I sat there thinking as she asked. Then Naven spoke up, "I was on a camping trip it kinda ran a little late. Had some car trouble. " He said nonchalantly. He wasn't lying, mom decided that going for human blood would turn us into monsters so she sent him to get animals mom said she would stop stealing blood packs from the hospital cause other humans need them were not savages we care for the humans. Even for what they did. We still forgive them. But the taste of human blood is so much better than animals, more filling.
