Chapter 6: The storm of suprise

A few hours passed and we sat on the couch watching storm chasers, when the screen flashed to show a 'Breaking Weather Report'. A man in front of a weather screen appeared. "The snow storm that was headed for Oregon has shifted directions and turned to head for the northern areas of the state." He said pointing to the red, white and pink blob coming for us. "The storm is a big mixture of snow, hail, rain, and wind. This storm is about as dangerous as a F5 tornado, so the damage it may cause is down power lines, tree limbs falling, or whole trees falling, power outages, and damage to houses, or complete destruction of the building. The count of people injured are still rising but there isn't a death toll yet, let's hope it stays that way."

The screen changed back to storm chasers as we heard Victoria come down the stairs. "Hey sweetie I see your back from... your trip.." She said slowing down as if trying to remember where her son was. I looked at her kind of confused and I walked upstairs and into Nolans room getting my suitcase and finding my pajamas laying them neatly on the bed and walking to the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom closing the door behind me and turning the water on. I took off my clothes and neatly placed them on the counter. I pulled the hair band out off my hair and let it fall. I stepped in the shower and felt the rush of warm water run over me. I relaxed my muscles and stood under the water not wishing to move.

Kitt went to take a shower while we're cooking. I boiled potatoes and Naven cooked steak, there was bread in the oven. "So, do you like her?" Naven said eying me as he flipped the steak over. "I'm not answering that, my personal life isn't your business."I said casually looking at him with a serious face. "You obviously care about her, you won't let me eat her." He said as I rubbed the bridge of my nose. "I really wish you'd shut up." I said as the water running from upstairs stopped. "Aw come on i was sure I grabbed them." I heard her say and I went up to check on her. "Don't get any ideas." I said to Naven quietly. "You ok Kitt?" "Yea, I just forgot my pajamas, I got it hold on." I smiled at her forgetfulness as the door opened up to show her wearing nothing but a towel. She looked so tiny and adorable as she walked past me. A big gust of wind traveled through the house not only blowing her hair and me catching her scent, but also making the towel that was wrapped around her fall as well.

Before I realized what had happened I saw everything from her neck down to her ribs and I quickly shut my eyes as she scrambled to wrap the towel around her and ran into my room. I quickly walked back downstairs and into the kitchen to see Naven with a goofy look on his face. He then busted out laughing. "You are welcome you finally saw a girl naked, or half naked." I growled as my face turned red. " I said don't get any ideas! That meant don't do anything to embarrass anyone!" I said getting out a knife and a cutting board to chop up some onions 'I need to drink some blood fast I feel like I'm about to snap, I can wait till dinners ready maybe that will hold it off.' I thought to myself.

I sat on the bed with my head in my hands. I stood up wiped the tears off my face and got dressed. I always cry when I get embarrassed or really frustrated with something. I combed my hair and pulled it into a loose ponytail and put on my flip flops and walked downstairs. I saw Nolan cutting onions and Naven cooking steaks and messing with potatoes. I walked over to Nolan. "Can I help?" I asked my face turning pink from remembering earlier events. He handed me the knife. "Here just chop them up, be careful it's sharp." He told me smiling and going to the cabinets and getting plates and cups out and setting the table. After a while has passed and I had the last of the onions to cut and Naven was almost done with the steaks, Nolan had gotten bread out of the oven.

I stood there chopping as I heard a choking noise I turned to see Nolan standing there staring at me clutching his neck. Naven looked at him and his eyes went wide with panic. The hand holding the knife slipped cutting my other hand as I was occupied with watching Nolan. I pulled my hand close to me to see it was a pretty huge cut and it was bleeding pretty bad. I looked up at Nolan, hearing him growl as I backed away as his pointed sharp teeth showed, his fingers turned to pointed daggers, and his eyes filled with a blood red luster. "H- he's a vampire?!" I said terrified looking at at Naven, who's eyes have turned pitch black with pointed teeth and is holding Nolan back. I panicked, not thinking about the blood leaving my body fast, I turned around really fast and tried to run off. Feeling dizzy from the blood loss and from shock I fainted. The last thing I saw before pitch darkness was Nolan ripping out of Navens grip and coming towards me.

I woke up to the sound of a tv. I opened my eyes to be blinded by the light above me. I stirred around hearing someone get up. "You're up? Oh and the lights are killing you aren't they?" I nodded closing my eyes tightly to block the light. The lights turned off and it wasn't to dark it seemed it was about 6 o'clock. I opened my eyes and saw Naven sitting in the chair with a worried look on his face. 'It was just a dream I simply fell asleep on the couch and had a dream.' I thought to myself. "So, you scared of us?" Naven asked staring at me. "Scared of you? Why would i be scared of you." I laughed nervously really hoping it was just a dream. He gave me the 'you know what I'm talking about' look. I looked down. "So it was real, not a dream. You guys are vampires." He nodded. "Mom is to." He added getting up. "Are you hungry? You didn't eat dinner yet." I nodded hearing my stomach growl. "Wait. Where's Nolan?" I said looking around not seeing him in the living room or kitchen/dinning room. "He's in his room... he thinks you hate him." Naven said and I raised an eyebrow. "Why would he think that?" "Cause he got really hungry and tried to attack you. When babies get hungry they cry, right? Well that's kinda like us, except we don't sit and cry, we attack anything with a pulse." He said looking down. I stood up and ran upstairs. I knocked on Nolans door and it opened. Nolan stood there looking down with a sad expression on his face. Looking at him like that made my heart break. He looked like a kitten someone kicked in the face. I jumped and wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. I felt him hesitate then he wrapped his arms around me. I pulled back and he had a suprised look on his face. "I don't hate you Nolan. I could never hate you." I said as he smiled and pulled me close to him again.

He let go and we walked downstairs and I went to the kitchen while Nolan sat down on the couch. I put the plate of cold food I didn't eat in the microwave to heat it up. After it was done I sat down with my food watching the weather seeing if the storm changed or not.

It got worse.

The death toll was 50 people, the number of injured shot up to 70 as well, and places without power was almost the whole state in front of us. I pulled my legs up to my chest as the wind outside got stronger. I have a fear of storms. That shouldn't scare me as much as me sitting next to two vampires but, hey, people have their fears.

My phone started buzzing my pocket and I reached down and answered it. It was Lacey. "Hey, are you ok?" She asked in a worried tone. "Yea I'm fine what about you do u think your gonna be able to brace the storm with your house and all?" I asked remembering her house it has no basement and it's basically just a paper.house if you think about it. "I really don't know my parents are gone it's just me and Alice here, ugh hold on." She said as I heard her put the phone down. Nolan spoke up. "Why don't you ask if they wanna brave the storm over here we have a big enough house and a basement me and Naven can sleep down here and you guys can sleep in our beds." I looked at him. "If it's not to much trouble.. I want to make sure they're ok." I said quietly. They're my best friends they've been my best friends since second grade, I don't want anything to happen to them. "OK I'm back, sorry Sebastian is scared of storms." She said talking about her cat. "Well do you guys wanna stay over here with me it's alot safer than there." "Are you sure? Not to much trouble?" "No i asked the guys and it was actually Nolans idea." I said laughing realizing I haven't told them I'm at Nolans house. "You're at the guys house Kitti?!" she said in a loud voice. "Just hurry and get over here its the white house a few houses down from mine." I said quickly and hung up before she could say anything else. I turned to the guys who were about to start laughing. "Shut up guys. They'll be here soon and I think she's bringing her cat Sebastian. DON'T EAT HIM!!" I said loudly so they know better than to eat the greatest cat in the world.

I can't wait for my friends to get here.
