Chapter 8:The Morning After

I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes. I felt two arms wrapped around me holding me close. I tried to sit up to no avail. I felt drained. I looked behind me to see shirtless Nolan. He had blood all over his mouth. I felt my neck feeling a big bite mark. I felt Nolans grip get tighter as he pulled me closer to him forcing me to lay down pinned against him. "...Ki...tti..." I heard him quietly say in his sleep. I raised my eyebrow, as someone was coming downstairs. I struggled to get up as Naven came downstairs eyeing us concerned. I got out of Nolans grip and fell onto the floor holding my neck. Naven kneeled down and looked at it. He looked over at Nolan and grabbed him by the neck picking him up and dropping him on the floor, causing him to wake up. He sat up and looked at his brother. "What the hell man?" He said turning his head and looking at me and the dried blood on my neck.
"What happened to you?", he leaned forward reaching out to look at the bite. "You...happened." I looked up at him seeing sadness and disbelief in his eyes.

With one quick motion he picked me up bridal style and sped off to the bathroom and closed the door setting me on the edge of the sink. I looked up at him as he rummaged through cabinets, and got closer to me with a washcloth and wet it with warm water. He leaned closer to me and moved my hair that covered the bite. He put the cloth on my neck gently scrubbing the blood off holding the other side of my neck with his other hand. We sat in silence as he wiped the dried blood off and put a bandage around it to hide it. When he was done he wrapped his long arms around me tightly laying his head on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry... I'm a horrible person, you must hate me and I understand I never meant to do this to you. I'm sorry, Kitti, I really am." He said looking down still holding me in a hug. I pulled out my arms that were being pinned to my side causing him to back off. I threw my arms around his neck and whispered to him quietly. "I don't hate you Nolan. You just....scared me a bit it was a new experience for me. I'm gonna have to get use to it." He leaned back and looked me shaking his head. "No you're not gonna get used to it. I'm not gonna bite you ever." He grabbed my hands holding them in his looking into my eyes. "I won't hurt my best friend." He let go of my hands and hugged me before opening the bathroom door. "Come on, I'll cook breakfast." He said as I hopped off the sink and walked in front of him and back downstairs.

×Nolans P.O.V.×
Kitt hopped off the sink carefully as I held the door open for her and we walked downstairs. I watched her hair sway as she walked. On the couch sat Naven, then Kitt. I walked by the couch on the way to the kitchen I stopped and asked Naven to come help. We walked into the kitchen looking over at Kitt from time to time over the bar counter. I began cooking bacon and eggs while Naven worked on toast. "So what happened exactly."Naven said keeping his voice down." "I don't remember it's blurry. All I remember was waking up going downstairs and I saw her on the couch. She wasn't covered up so I grabbed a blanket and covered her. Then I blacked out. I remember breaking her skin and drinking her blood." I pressed onto the bacon making it sizzle " I figured that. At least you didn't kill her. Be careful next time brother." He said looking at me "if you don't mind me asking, what it taste like? She smells different is why I'm asking." He said lowering his voice more. "It was very sweet. Tasted like frosting to be honest." I cleared my throat and nodded to Kitt as she walked in. "Need any help?" She giggled. I like that about her no matter what previous events were she always come out as happy. I shook my head. "Actually were almost done." I smiled at her and she nodded with a simple 'Okay' and walked back into the living room as her friends walked down the stairs. I looked over at Naven, who was setting plates onto the table and I put food on them.

×Kitts P.O.V.×
I sat watching TV as Alice and Lacey came down. "Goodmorning!" Alice said hopping onto the couch next to me I giggled at her and Lacey sat next to her. "Where are the guys?" Alice asked pulling up her hair. I opened my mouth to answer when the house phone they had sitting on the bar rung. I got up and answered it. "Hello?" I asked "Kitti?" The voice asked. "It's Victoria can you tell Nolan and Naven I'll be home a little late. There was a man found murdered a few houses down." I nodded "Okay, I will." She hung up after thanking me and I looked over at Nolan "You're mom said she was gonna be late coming home. There was a man who was murdered just down the road." I said and he nodded eyes widening slightly. "Breakfast is served!" Naven called as we all walked towards the table sitting down and began eating. We talked about school and how close Christmas break was. Alice brought up the fact that the Christmas dance was in three weeks. Nolan sat up a bit and looked at her "There's a dance? Before Christmas break?" He asked looking over and Naven and smiled. "Yeah there's one every year the week school gets out for break, sadly we don't have dates." She said looking down then at me smirking. I glared at her and chewed on my bacon. "Well okay then how many other dances are there" Nolan said leaning onto the table smiling. "Well at the beginning of the year is the homecoming dance, then the Halloween masquerade party, and the Christmas dance, the New year party, Valentines Day dance....um" Alice paused for a second trying to think. "Well we also have a spring dance in April and after that is the big summer dance." Lacey said eating her eggs. I looked over at Nolan who was looking at me. He turned and looked at Naven smiling. Alice turned to me with the 'If he asks you, you are welcome' look and she giggled. "That also means sometime the week of the dance were gonna have late hours at work. We are supposedly to be getting more shipments in next week." I sat up smiling. I loved books that's why I like going to work.

After we all finished eating I grabbed everyone's plates and going to wash them and arguing with Nolan that I wanted to do it. He surrendered and walked into the living room as I did the dishes. I looked over and saw them all whispering to themselves and I saw Lacey sitting next to Naven and they were talking. I looked over at Alice and she sat next to Nolan talking to him. Nolan smiled a few times looking up at me and then they all started watching TV. Alice got up and sat next to Lacey leaving Nolan alone on the other couch. I finished with dishes and walked into the living room sitting next to Nolan.

We sat watching TV when Victoria came in the door she grabbed a apple and walked up to her room cause she had to go into work earlier than usual. Nolan turned on the weather channel. We watched as the weather man said the roads should be safe to drive on in a day or so or possibly  overnight. I heard the sigh of sadness erupt from everyone's mouths and I chuckled a bit. The weather man explained that all power in houses should be back on and I stood up. "I'm going to go check and see if the power is on at my house." I said putting shoes on and grabbing Nolan jacket he let me borrow. "I"ll go with you." Alice jumped up following behind me as I looked back I saw Naven and Lacey in a conversation. We walked out of the door and down the road. "What were you and Nolan talking about earlier?" I looked over at her and she smiled. "Oh nothing really." She smiled as I opened the door. And turned on the living room light. "Good we have power." I smiled walking to the heater and turning it on full blast to warm the house. "Well how about we go get our stuff from the guys' house and stay here for today and go home tomorrow?" Alice said looking at the house. "I guess we could I think it's time we got out of their hair anyways." I smiled walking out of the door and back down the road to their house.

We walked in to see everyone talking again. "Well the powers on so well get our stuff and go to my house so we can leave you guys alone." I laughed slightly and looked over at Nolan who had a pained expression. Lacey stood up and went with Alice to grab their things. I stood there as Nolan and Naven got up. "You sure you guys wanna go now you can stay as long as you want we don't mind really." Nolan said smiling. I nodded "Yeah I just live a few houses over it'll be ok." I laughed and hugged him. I went upstairs and got all my stuff together along with Alice and Lacey. We walked down the stairs and Alice grabbed Sebastian carrier and walked onto the porch thanking the guys for letting them stay. "I'm gonna help them clean up a bit before I go ok can you take my stuff?" I looked at Lacey and she nodded grabbing my bag as I walked back in. Nolan looked at me and tilted his head "What happened to going home?" He said walking over to me " I was gonna help clean up a bit before I left." I smiled and we walked up to his room. he took the sheets off his bed and replaced them with the ones that were on his bed when I slept there. "So why change sheets?" I asked him "Well some girls have different scents I just didn't want their scents stained into my favorite sheets." He smiled making his bed. "Well what about my scent?" I smiled and he blushed slightly. "Y-yours isn't bad..." he stuttered slightly causing me to giggle folding the sheets he gave me and putting them away. Naven walked in and helped Nolan and I walked down the stairs cleaning in there.

×Nolans P.O.V.×
Naven helped me make my bed as Kitt walked downstairs. "So?" He asked tucking corners of the sheets under the mattress. "So what?" I asked "Which one do you like Kitt or Alice?" He asked making me tilt my head. "What do you mean?" "Alice was obviously flirting with you, so who do like." I shook my head "I'm not answering that." I said walking out of my room and downstairs to see Kitt wiping off the coffee table. We were done cleaning and she was about to leave. Naven hugged her and told her she needed to come back soon and he was going to enroll into school when it starts again. I walked her out onto the porch and she tried to give me my red and black hoodie back. I told her to keep it and I hugged her tightly. "if you need anything I mean anything text me and I'll bring it to you okay?" I said pulling away from her. "Okay and thanks for everything." She smiled hugging me again and I rubbed her back. She tore away and walked away waving goodbye to us.
