Isere swallowed a painful lump in her throat as she heard the question the girl had asked her. Her heart began to beat fast, her palm became sweaty as she held the microphone tightly.

Even if she wanted to lie, her conscience wouldn't be able to take it. The look in her mother's eyes sent shivers down her spine.

Just as she was about to speak, she was interrupted by the host. "Every young lady person here are all virgins. We chose both young ladies and old women for a reason. The young ladies of eighteen to twenty-five to speak to you about it and the old women to tell you that they got married as virgins."

"So to answer your question, she is a virgin." Isere exhaled deeply once the host answered for her. She was glad she didn't use her mouth to lie in the house of the Lord. Although she didn't feel good she was preaching what she didn't practice.

"That being said, we shall round up today's lesson." The host said. She ushered Isere to go back and take her seat. "What have you learnt so far and was this lesson beneficial to you?" The host asked and the girls nodded their head.

"Mrs Osagbai, I must say you have done a great job bringing your daughter up. She was indeed excellent with her words today. I really love the references from the Bible," the head pastor wife said to Isere's mother.

With a beaming smile on Isere's mother face, she replied. "it is the Lord. Anything for him and I must say I am glad he gave me the strength to teach her properly."

"Nice work Katherine. Your love for the Lord is really strong and I'm glad you are following your mother's path," the head pastor's wife complimented Isere.

Isere feigned smile, "Thank you ma," she replied. There was no way she'd take the path of her mother. There was nothing in her mother that she wanted, not at all.

"Mrs Osagbai, this Wednesday, I expect you in church. Concerning those teen girls that got pregnant, we will be counselling them," the head pastor wife said.

"Thank you ma. I remember."

Once isere and her mother got back home, isere walked to the kitchen to go get water. She was extremely thirsty. Isere's mother followed her into the kitchen. "Isere my daughter, God will bless you!" She said.

"Amen," Isere replied.

"Now you are making me proud. Those things of the world do not amaze you anymore. I'm glad that I trained you properly. So this is what you will do for me, today we shall read the book of proverb all through."

Isere frowned, she felt like screaming. She was mentally drained and all the mother could think of was to read the Bible till night. She didn't make an attempt to force a smile to her face instead she gave her mother a bland expression.
