CHAPTER ELEVEN:

DAYS OF DECEMBER

-ˋˏ *.·:·.⟐.·:·.* ˎˊ-

By the time November had come to an end and December rolled around, the Hogwarts grounds were coated in a layer of snow, making the castle look a whole more magical. The majority of the Hogwarts students took this as an opportunity to spend a lot of time outside, building snowmen and having endless snowball fights.

The eighth year Slytherins were no exception.

Just as in October on Halloween, they had practically burrowed the common room with Christmas decorations to the point that it could very well have been mistaken as the north pole. "And people say that Slytherins don't have Christmas spirit." said Audrey, proudly.

There was scheduled another trip to Hogsmeade on the first weekend of December, which brought joy among the students.

In the boys common room, Draco was putting on his fur coat (a rather expensive one that he had received on his 16th birthday) along with a Slytherin scarf and a pair of warm gloves. The other boys were getting ready as well so they could meet the girls down in the common room.

Theodore was acting rather moody as he had wanted to bring Freya on a date, without the others tagging along. Audrey had very wisely mentioned that this might be their last chance at ever visiting Hogsmeade at winter, seeing as they would be leaving Hogwarts the upcoming summer so she insisted that they should spend the day together as a group of friends.

Freya had been the one to suggest that they tried to get Pansy and Daphne to go with them too, even though Pansy had been ignoring the whole lot of them since her fight with Blaise.

It was Draco they had decided needed to talk to Pansy since he apparently was the only one, she was willing to listen to.

("I'm supposed to ask if you don't want to hang with us for the Hogsmeade trip," he said, trying not to be bothered by the curious glances the Ravenclaws were giving him. Especially the gaze of Astoria Greengrass who seemed to be blushing at his presence.

Pansy glared at him. "As if I want to be with you lot. I'm going with these girls, right?"

The Ravenclaws nodded eagerly. Astoria saw her chance and said, "But Draco, you're welcome to come along with us, if you'd like!" she smiled sweetly at him.

"No he's not!" Pansy said. "You can't just invite him along."

Astoria shrugged. "I was just being nice."

Draco sighed, wishing it wasn't him who had to get the job to bring along Pansy. He glanced back at to the table where Freya was giving him an encouraging nod. "Well what about you, Daphne?" he said, looking at the blond Slytherin girl who hung out with the Ravenclaws so often.
