THE BEGINNING

Draco Malfoy was the sweetest and most innocent child that had ever been put into this world. He would never hurt a fly and his heart was pure gold. At least that was what Narcissa Malfoy thought about the 11-year-old boy.

Upon receiving her son's letter for Hogwarts, she had been nothing short from excited and so had Draco who would count down the days till the school year would finally begin. When Draco was lying in his bed the day before going to Hogwarts, Narcissa had to restrain herself from bursting into tears.

"Can you believe it, Lucius?" she said, wiping her eyes. "My Dragon is starting school already."

Lucius chuckled as he sat down in the bed, watching his wife spill out all her emotions. "Still think that Durmstrang would be a better fit for him though,"

Narcissa looked at him sharply. "We've talked about this already," she said, shaking her head. "Durmstrang is all about dark magic... I don't want that for my baby."

"But Narcissa—"

"No, we've already discussed this."

Narcissa Malfoy had her way of getting what she wanted, so Lucius only sighed and went to bed, knowing that he wouldn't get his will no matter how hard he tried.

The next morning, Draco fluttered his eyes open with a big smile on his face. He jumped out of his bed and ran down the stairs of the Malfoy Manor, down to the dining room.

"Where's mum and dad?" asked Draco, confused when he found that his parents weren't present.

"Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy are s-still asleep, young master," said one of their many house elves, looking down to avoid Draco's eyes.

Draco furrowed his eyebrows together angrily. "Why aren't they up yet? What time is it?"

The house elf took a step back and said with a shaking voice, "It is 5 am sir."

"Five in the morning?" repeated Draco, slightly shocked because it wasn't usual for him to wake up this early. It had got to be from the excitement of going to Hogwarts for the first time. The house elf nodded quickly and hurried away after Draco asked him to bring some breakfast.

So Draco ate his breakfast alone in the dinning room, butterflies in his stomach that didn't seem to go away. "You're already awake, darling?" said Narcissa who had just entered the room. Her hair was a mess, but she was beautiful all the same.

"Hi mum!" said Draco with a big smile. "I couldn't wait."

Narcissa chuckled and gave her son a kiss on the cheek. "There's still some time before we have to leave, but why don't you hurry up and get ready? You might get to go on a quick fly on your broomstick before we leave."
