HALLOWEEN SPIRIT

"How can you be so daft," said Draco, following after Audrey who was angrily walking away as rapidly as possible. "You lost Slytherin 50 points, and we are now behind most of the others in the project. Why'd you even do it?"

Audrey paused and turned around facing Draco with a displeased look on her face. "Leave me alone, Malfoy!" Her voice was raised, and she turned to walk again, but Draco continued to follow her.

"You told Weasley to put that in there and I'm pretty sure you did it on purpose. Do you just love to ruin everything or was there a reason?"

"What even is that question? Of course, there was a reason! But you wouldn't understand it anyway so just shove off and leave me the hell alone."

Draco stopped in his tracks and stared angrily down at Audrey who stared just as angrily back at him. He then sighed and with a roll of his eye he walked away from her, not looking back. The only thing that seemed to calm the anger he felt was the fact that Audrey was now, because of the detention, forced to scrub the floor in the corridors, without using magic. He smiled to himself, thinking that it was a suitable punishment.

Since he had a small break before the next class, Draco went back to the dungeons and to the common room, planning on writing a letter to his mother, keeping her up to date on the things that had happened since he last wrote her. Which wasn't a lot but Narcissa Malfoy wanted to know everything that was going on in her sons life.

To Draco's pleasure, none of his friends were present as he sat in the common room, writing his letter. There were a few other Slytherins but none of which were likely to say anything to him. After finishing the letter, he read it through just a few more times, adding some things to the end and then finally decided that it was done and ready to be sent. He walked up to the owlery and found his Eurasian Eagle-Owl, smiling down at her as he tied the letter to the leg. "Send this to mother, will you?"

The owl hooted and nodded before taking off. Draco watched it fly away and sighed to himself, wishing that he see his mother soon.

"It's a beautiful owl you've got," said a voice, startling Draco that had been too deep in his own thoughts to notice that someone had joined him in the owlery. It was Astoria Greengrass that had spoken. She stood there with a soft smile playing on her lips and a letter in her right hand.

"Yeah, she's beautiful." said Draco and watched as Astoria tied a letter upon her own owls leg. "Who's the letter for?"

"My father," said Astoria and a worried expression came upon her pretty face. "There's some trouble at home, you see. And well," she shrugged. "I'm slightly worried."
