Day 20

Ziva, Tony and Tali went back to Gibbs’s house. The team was working on the case. Ellie mumbled: “That makes no sense.” “What?” Nick looked up from his computer. “Barks confession. Why would he confess this? Who is he protecting?” “I don’t know. No one from his family knew of Cullen. In his company it’s the same. Only Barks and his assistant.” “Hm…” Ellie walked to the screen. “Mcgee can you put Barks finance on the screen again?” “Yes.” His bank account appeared on the screen. Ellie looked at it. She seemed like she found something. “Mcgee. What is this transfer?” “50$ to his assistant.” “Is this the only one?” Mcgee tipped something on his computer. “No. This transfer shows up every single day since Cullen’s death.” “So, it's his assistant?”: Nick stepped closer to Ellie and looked at the screen. “We have to bring her here.” Ellie turned to Mcgee: “Where is she?” “I locate her phone.” Gibbs walked in with coffee in his hand. “What do we have?” “Suspicious.” Gibbs turned to Ellie: “What? Tell me.” “We found transfers on Barks bank account. He pays his assistant 50$ per day since Cullen’s death.” “Go get her.” “I found her Boss; she is at Barks house.” Ellie Nick come with me. HURRY UP! They arrived at his house. Mcgee and Nick went to the front door and Gibbs and Ellie to the back of the house. Mcgee kicked the door and they went in with their weapons ready to shoot. They heard voices upstairs. They met Gibbs and Ellie in the hallway and get upstairs together. Gibbs walked to the room where the voices came from. He opened the door: “NCIS! Hands up!” In the room were Barks assistant and Barks wife. His wife was tied to a chair and the assistant had a knife in her hand. “Put the knife away! NOW!” “That’s what I expected. He is such a liar. He told the police; you see what he did?!” Barks assistant yelled at the wife.
Gibbs tried to get control over her. “Put the knife away! If you cooperate now, your time in jail will be shorter.” The woman laughed at Gibbs. “You think I mind that? I will die. I know that. But I need to end things now.” She grabbed the knife and swung it in direction of the wife, but she couldn’t harm her. Gibbs shot her and the woman collapsed and fell down on the ground. Gibbs walked to the wife and untied her and said: “It’s over. You’re safe now.” Ellie and Mcgee helped her to get up and walked out to the cars.
