Later that day. The team was at the bullpen. Gibbs walked in saying: “It’s late, go home. Get some sleep.” Mcgee answered: “I’ll just finish that here Boss.” Ellie and Nick got their stuff and walked to the elevator. They went outside to the parking lot talking about what they’ll get to eat. “Hmm. I don’t know about you, but I want burgers.” Nick complained: “Yeah, burgers is ok, if we get it fast. It’s freezing cold. Can you walk a bit faster?” Ellie laughed. “I can’t. What did I tell you? Please try to not annoy me all the time.” “How should I enjoy this when I can’t even feel my fingers? And it’s always dark outside. Why can you enjoy this?” “Because you can wear cozy and warm clothes, drink mulled wine to warm your cold fingers, you can sit on the couch eat gingerbread and watch the snow falling outside the window. For me it’s the most beautiful time of the year.” “Sounds nice how you say it, but you let the part out where you nearly freeze to death when you get outside.” Ellie got to the driver’s side of her car and looked at Nick who was standing opposite from her. “You will get it if you just give in with the vibe.” “If you say so.” In this moment it started to snow again. Ellie began to smile which made Nick smile.” “It snows! Look how beautiful it is. She looked up in the sky and Nick did the same. “Can you feel the little snowflakes on your face?” “Yeah. It’s a funny feeling. I forgot how it feels.” Ellie laughed and Nick with her. They both were standing there looking up to the sky for about two minutes. They both smiled and enjoyed this moment. Ellie looked down again and looked at Nick who seemed happy for the first time outside in this time of the year. Nick noticed her starring at him and asked: “What?” “You broke the spell Nick. Bad memories changed into good new memories.” “If you say so. But now I really have to eat something.” “Yeah, me too.” They both got into the car and went to get their burgers.
