Chapter 20 - Rumor?

SOONYOUNG's P.O.V

"Where are we going exactly?"

"I told you, I want to eat in a restaurant."

Seriously, what is wrong with this woman? She just ate earlier and now she wants to eat again? I must say, her appetite is really big.

We've been walking for minutes already since we left the house. Honestly, I regret agreeing with her to go out today. I didn't know what came over me.

"We already passed by a lot of restaurants. What exactly are you looking for? And why the hell can't we just ride the bus? My feet are killing me!"

"Geez stop complaining will you? We're almost there."

Hyebin rolled her eyes at me as we continued to walk along the sidewalk. It was the middle of summer and the sun was extremely hot today. Summer was my favorite time of the year. I loved going out during this season.

But not with this rude hag beside me.

"Yah Moon Hyebin. Why don't you just go home now? Your dad must be worried."

No response. Hyebin kept on shifting her head around the place, ignoring my question.

"If you're hungry, you could've just told me. I can cook for you at home."

"Nahh I wouldn't bet on that." Hyebin snickered at me. It somehow triggered me though.

"Wae? You don't believe I can cook?" I asked.

"Well yeah, obviously. Jihoon told me you once set his kitchen on fire."

Jihoon, you son of a gun. I'm pretty sure I told him to keep it a secret. Is there really no one I can trust my secrets with?

"That...was an accident. But I've improved already, believe me."

I nudged her shoulder that made her stop in her tracks. Hyebin then faced me.

"Sorry sweetie, but I guess you gotta persuade me further."

Hyebin dishevelled my hair and formed a small smirk.

'S-sweetie?'

The moment I heard that word, I suddenly felt my cheeks heat up and went speechless.

"Hey, are you...blushing?"

Hyebin asked as she leaned closer, examining my face. Instantly, I backed away before she could get any closer.

"I'm not!" I awkwardly laughed the situation off but it didn't distract Hyebin.

"Oho~ Kwon Soonyoung. Did I make your heart flutter?"

Great. Now she's using my words against me.

Slowly, Hyebin stepped closer as she looked straight into my eyes with a playful grin. Clearly, she was teasing me. And for some reason, I couldn't form any words to argue with her.

"Is my charm finally working on you?"

Every step she took, I paced backwards at the same time. She was grinning as if she was about to do something naughty.

Why is she grinning at me like that? And why the hell am I feeling all giddy about this?!

My back finally hit a post near the sidewalk, stopping me from moving away further. Hyebin stopped too just when our faces were just inches away. This time, my heart beated rapidly it could burst any moment.
