Suddenly (Bede x Reader)

Back to the tundra

"There you are, (Y/n)!" Sonia exclaims

"Yep. So what'd you want to ask me?" (Y/n) responds

"Who were you on a date with?" Sonia asks giddily

"Okay, you can ask me anything besides that or anything related to that." (Y/n) says sternly

"Aw, fine." Sonia pouts a little

She sighs and composes herself.

"I'm heading to the Crown tundra and I want your help with some research. It involves legendaries and-"

"Stop! I'm in!" (Y/n) shouts happily

"I should've known you would be." Sonia laughs

A sudden realization hits (Y/n). Her excitement fades and a look of concern takes over. However a smile soon takes over that. Sonia watches her expression change confusedly.

"Hang on I need to make a call." (Y/n) says then runs outside

She pulls out her phone and goes through her contacts. Rotom activates and pulls away from her. She puts her hands on her hips, raises an eyebrow, and smirks. Rotom makes a sound like a giggle. A second later a video call request to Bede was being made. It didn't take long for the call to connect.

"Since when do you do video call?" Bede asks with a smile

"It was Rotom's idea." She responds

"That makes senses." He says

They chuckle.

"So I wanted to ask you something."

He hums curiously.

"You wanna come to the Crown tundra with me?"

"Wait, isn't that the place you got those cuts and bruises? The same cuts and bruises you're still covered in?" He says getting serious

"Hold on, before you get mad, I'm just helping Sonia with research." She says

He lets out a sigh of relief.

"That involve legendaries." She finishes quickly

"(Y/n)!!"

"I know, I know, this is exactly how I ended up hurt in the first place. But if you're with me you can keep me in check. And you can make sure I'm taking care of myself. Mainly the cuts." She says

He thinks for a moment. Staring at her with no discernible emotion other than scepticism. Then he closes his eyes and sighs deeply.

"I'll get ready and head your way. Don't leave without me." He says

"Yay!" She cheers happily

He smiles, lets out another sigh and, hangs up. With that (Y/n) goes back inside, and is met with a confused look from Sonia. She had heard (Y/n)'s cheer of joy.

"I invited someone to come with us." (Y/n) says

"Oh? And who would that be?" Sonia asks curiously

"You'll find out when they get here." (Y/n) responds cheekily

"You and the secrets today." Sonia huffs, causing (Y/n) to laugh

They both go to the train station with their best cold weather attire packed and ready. They, of course, wait for the 3rd and final person to arrive. The moment Bede entered (Y/n) lights up. She runs up and hugs him happily. Seeing as he was in public he was in public his pride was active. So he resists the urge to smile and return the hug. Instead opting to look indifferent. Not that (Y/n) minded. After all she knew very well how prideful he can be.

At this point people were watching this and wondering what was happening. After all they knew about the already existing rivalry between the 2 powerhouses. But they didn't know just how fond they were of each other. She backs away and looks at him with a big excited smile.

"This is going to be so much fun! We-"

She's cut off by him poking her nose, which effectively confused her into silence.

"Keep in mind I'm here to keep you from accidentally killing yourself. Because if there's anyone who can manage a feat like that, it's you." He says calmly

"Well, when you put it like that I sound reckless." She says a little shocked

"That's because you are reckless." He says with a smirk

"Alright, Mr. Sassy." She says, crossing her arms

"Come on you 2! You can bicker on the train!" Sonia calls to them

With an eye roll from Bede and a laugh from (Y/n) they board the train. The car they were in was pretty much empty, the only people there being those 3 themselves. Sonia begins looking over some work while (Y/n) shows Bede the tundra's Pokedex.

As snow takes over the landscapes and they near their stop, each of them put on their cold weather gear. Something that (Y/n) notices immediately is Bede's jacket was oversized. The bottom going down to his knees and the sleeves just about covering his whole hand. Leaving only his fingers visible if not slightly rolled up. Considering he was once again in his fairy type attire and the jacket was quite puffy, this came off as a cute look to her. But she was keeping that fact to herself at the moment.

Shortly after they gear up they arrive at the Crown tundra. Stepping out of the station and into the tundra, Bede immediately reacts to the shere cold by stuffing his hands inside his sleeves and pressing his arms against his body. He almost instantly begins shivering. He was not built for this weather.

He immediately recognizes the area as the one (Y/n) had sent him a picture, right before she vanished. The picture was pretty on its own. However seeing it in person, was simply gorgeous. Despite the cold air biting him, he was amazed with his new surroundings.

While admiring everything (Y/n) appears in his sight. Shortly after Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltress join her. All 4 happily playing together. He smiles at the wholesome sight. And then (Y/n) slips and land flat on her butt. The 3 legendary birds stop and immediately check on her while he facepalms. He could already he had his work cut out for him this time.
