Suddenly (Bede x Reader)

"Don't Tell Sonia... Or anyone about this. I want this conversation to stay between you and me." (Y/n) says

"Sure. But I thought he didn't like you. Especially not like that." Hop says a little more confused than (Y/n)

"I guess I grew on him. More than expected or intended." (Y/n) laughs

"Seems legit. Honestly I don't think I can help you with this." Hop says scratching the back of his head

"That's fine. I just wanted to talk to someone without being teased. So thanks for listening." (Y/n) smiles at her friend

"No problem... Uhm.. You're not gonna stop hanging out with him are you?" Hop asks curiously

"No. I don't want this to ruin our friendship... But I should probably confront him about it.." (Y/n) says

It was then her phone rang. Speak of the fairy psychic devil. She answers.

"Hey what's up." She greets

"Come to the gym. I feel like we got screwed over a little in the Wild Area. Plus I need help giving Rapidash a bath later." Bede says

"Kay, I'll be there ASAP." (Y/n) responds

"Good, talk to you when you get here."

"Yep, bye."

She ended the call, grabs her bag and, stands up.

"Well I'm off to Ballonlea."

"Have fun with that." Hop says standing up as well

"I, more than likely, will. Now bring it in." (Y/n) says opening her arms

Hop laughs and accepts her hug. As she left she made sure to say "bye" and "sorry for the heart attack" to Sonia. To which Sonia laughed and said it was fine. (Y/n) gets a fly taxi. From there it didn't really take long to get to the entrance of Glimwood Tangle.

"Thank you." (Y/n) waves to the Corviknight and rider

Corviknight responded with a happy cry and the rider waved back with a big smile. She enters the forest before the light behind her could completely fade, Bede appeared with Sylveon and Gothitelle with him. (Y/n) smiles. She mentally notes that that sparkle in his eyes was still very much present.

Nonetheless she goes to the platinum blond's side and walls back to the gym with them. They were silent during this. No small talk, no conversation, just calm comfortable silence. They didn't really feel like talking was super necessary at certain times. The whole cave thing didn't effect that.

(Y/n), of course, stuck around the gym. There were patches between challengers, where Bede and (Y/n) talked calmly yet happily. And 99% of the few challengers who made it to Bede got sent back without a badge. During those battles she watched and had very nice conversations with Opal. The day passed pretty quickly and, soon (Y/n) was in Bede's home.

He went to his room to change out of his gym uniform. Meanwhile she sat in the living room and messed around with his Pokémon. Which, no surprise, were all fairy or psychic.... Or both. A few minutes later Bede comes out in a pastel pink t-shirt and dark purple shorts. (Y/n) immediately notices many discoloration on the skin of his arms and legs.

Scars. And lots of them. She quickly rubs her eyes wondering if she was seeing this right.

"If needed, you can borrow some of my clothes when we're done." Bede says, ignoring what he saw her doing

"Alright, lets do this." (Y/n) says, standing up

They entered the bathroom with Rapidash. The reason (Y/n) was there wasn't because Rapidash was against bathes. In fact it was quiet the opposite. The reason it was difficult to bath the Pokémon was he loves to shake and splash. While having (Y/n) around made it easier, they both ended up soaked.

Again.

At least they were inside this time.

The platinum blonde got all 3 of them towels. Putting a large one on the floor for Rapidash, since he liked air drying while he relaxed. Bede and (Y/n) were sitting silently in the living room. They had been sitting quietly for awhile.

Curiousness washes over her and she looked at him. He was laid back, eyes closed. He looked, in a word, peaceful. She let her eyes wonder down to his arms and then his legs. Again there were a lot of scars. They were mostly small, but that really didn't matter with how many they were. Moments later she notices a particularly nasty case.

2 ragged medium sized scars that were overlapping each other. She stared wondering what happened. She had read his league card. Could this have to do with the orphanage incident?

Suddenly Bede snapped his fingers within her field of view. She looks up to meet his eyes. He was giving her the most feral look she's ever gotten. He saw her staring at the scars scattered over his skin, and clearly didn't like it. (Y/n) opens her mouth.

"Don't ask questions, you don't want the answers to." He says in a low demanding tone

Yes, he predicted what she was going to ask. She looks the other way.

"Sorry." She mumbles

Silence. Rapidash watched intently, as the mood fades from Bede's eyes. He sighs and places a hand on her forearm.

"You're fine. That was unnecessary of me... Do me a favor and don't tell anyone about this. I don't want to have to talk about it. It's..." He trails off

"Painful?" (Y/n) asks looking at back to him

"Very." He confirms

"Consider my lips sealed." (Y/n) winks

He smiles at her gratefully. She opens her arms with a cheeky smile. Bede chuckles, shakes his head then hugs her. It's at this point that all the fairy types decided to show up.

Not exactly something you want when you're already, silently, confused on your status with someone. Especially since fairy types are masters of bringing out deep and powerful emotions. Before her heart rate rose from fear of what they'll do the platinum blond pulled away. He looked at the time. 10:48 pm.

The fairy types all smile. Again, not something you want happening.

"You should stay here for the night." Bede says

"I can take a fly taxi when I get out of Glimwood." (Y/n) says

"You know just as well as I do that Glimwood can be dangerous. Especially at night." Bede protests

"I have a team."

"Will you stop being stubborn, and let me do this for you." Bede says a little annoyed at this point

"Okay okay. If it'll make you feel better." (Y/n) says kinda joking

"Actually it would." He smirks rather snuggly

(Y/n) blanks out with a tiny blush. She was not expecting that. The fairy types laugh thoroughly amused by her reaction.
