The dinning table gradually fills up for breakfast, some have already started digging in when Rachna joins them and greets the shocked Tiwaris and Rajputs.

Tanya then introduces her to the table and narrates why she will be staying with them for a while, she then urges her to take a seat. Vedant doesn't look her way and Ria startled by the appearance of a stranger out of nowhere starts "You said you were in Dublin ?"

Rachna nods meekly and Ria continues "What were you doing there?"

"I am a designer and I went there to promote my work. So, when I heard that my old friend Vedant is getting married, I just had to come and surprise him."

"Where are your family now?" Ria goes on to ask.

"They are presently in Chandigarh." Rachna answers as she stares at Vedant.

"Why didn't they come with you?"

"They had something really really important to attend to so I'm here all by myself."

Ria stops her questions and breakfast continues quietly till it ends.

"What is she doing here?" Ruchi asks no one in particular.

"Vedant be honest to us, did you call her here to stop the wedding?" Rowan asks his son, he looks as confused as his wife.

"No dad, why would I do such a thing? I said I was going to marry Shalini and I won't back out of it." Vedant answers angrily and Ruchi interrupts "She won't have come here if she's not needed be honest."

"I won't defend myself like this, if you don't believe me then fine." Vedant says and folds his arms.

"She's playing a good game. She even said she just came back from Dublin. I'm sure she was in Pune, what would she do in Dublin?." Shekhar adds

"She is trying to gain sympathy and I'm sure what she's planning is big but we must all calm down and take care of this like adults." Indira says but Ruchi persists "I'll throw that girl out right now, what does she take us for?"

She darts out the room and asks Chetan for Rachna's room. She moves swiftly while others follow trying to stop her but she pays deaf ears to them. When she gets to the door, she barges into Rachna's room and finds her talking on the phone.

Ruchi moves to stand in front of her and waits for her to hang up.

Rachna on seeing what is about to happen reluctantly ends the call and shockingly, Ruchi slaps her hard across the face.

Rachna holds on to the reddened part of her face as Ruchi grabs her other free hand.

"Aunt what did you just do?" She snaps shocked at her action.

"You rascal what makes you think that you can come into our lives at anytime you want, that so in an important period?"

Rachna keeps mum while others look on.

"You are leaving this house right this instant." Ruchi drags her out but Rachna refuses to move and prys her hand off Ruchi's clutches

"I am not going anywhere." Rachna shouts and continues "You have no right to throw me out of here, it's not your house to begin with."

Surjeet comes upstairs at the noise "What is going on?"

"There's nothing wrong." Rowan answers him as Indira walks up to Ruchi and mutters.

"We have to leave now, we will find a more quite way to get rid of her." Ruchi fumes as she is lead away.

"You have let your mother insult me Vedant. I am disappointed, this isn't how you were about a year ago. I thought you loved me." Rachna glares angrily at Vedant who stands next to Shagird.

"Things have changed Rachna I am most certainly not the same Vedant you knew a year ago and I would advice you to leave this house before you are dragged out of it. Have some shame." he replies and walks away.

Three days has passed since Rachna paved way for herself in the Maheshwari home. She has become friends with Shalini and her family members who warmed up to her.

Vedant finds their friendship unusual and fears that Rachna will eventually decieve Shalini.

Rachna and Shalini are busy in the kitchen when Shalini's bangles gets Rachna's eyes. She peers at them for a while and asks how she got them.

Shalini tells her that Vedant bought them for her when he moved to Lucknow which makes Shalini full of envy.

They go about their work until Shalini puts on the stove, when she's about to put the pot on the stove, Rachna pretends to slip and pushes Shalini which causes the pot to fall to the ground.

Shalini's bangles break and her hand almost falls into the fire but Vedant grasps her hand on time before swiftly turning the stove off.

"I am so sorry, it was a mistake." Rachna pretends.

"It's okay Rachna." Shalini answers but Vedant snaps at her  "You should be more careful next time." he turns to Shalini and inspects her hand.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes I am, it was just a small accident and nothing happend, see." She hold up her hand and he takes a look at them again.

"Look there's a scratch." He points out in concern and she shakes her head.

"It's so small."

"Not to me." He her leads out of the kitchen without sparing Rachna a glance.

Rachna prepares some black lentils when Shalini leaves with Vedant and serves it on the table before calling the house to come for lunch.

"I can't eat this."

"I assure you it's delicious." Rachna expressed by taking a spoon from her plate and tasting it "See."

"I don't have the appetite for it."

"Just try..."

"I have to go now." Vedant announces to the table and stands up to leave. He bends over to whisper to Ruchi "Please eat mum, it would be wrong if you refuse to do so."

Vedant then leaves to search for Shalini who's outside. "Are you sure you are fine Shalini?"

He asks holding up her wrists in search for more injuries.

"I'm fine Vedant, I'm okay." Shalini answers and holds on to a note in another hand.

"What is that?" Vedant inquires trying to reach for the note which she hides behind her.

"It's a list, my grandmother's death anniversary is coming up soon."

"I'll help you out, why did you miss lunch?"

"I didn't feel like having it, you?"

"I can't eat if you can't." Vedant turns to her with a grin and she blushes.

"Do you expect me to believe that?"

"What else should you believe?"

"Anything other than that?" She shrugs

"Well, there's none." He gently pulls the note from her and takes a look at it.
