2:30 p.m - Rebecca and Jace had finally arrived in Santa Barbara.
The drive there had been long and filled with silence that neither one of the strangers wanted to break.
Finally Jace stopped in front of a two story, modern house. The yard was large enough in both the front and the back, causing Rebecca to smile at the thoughts of a younger Jace running around, smiling widely.
"I'm just gonna run in and tell me dad what's up," he said as he got out and jogged to the front door.
She wished she had that.
She wanted someone to actually care about if she was coming home.
It had never made any sense why her uncle had been so cruel to her. He absolutely hated her and constantly said that it was her fault that they died, knowing deep in his heart, it was her fault.
I used to have that, she thought to herself. And she was right.
Rosemarie, a sophomore in high school, was excited to go to six flags, wanting nothing more than to have fun with her older sister.
Rebecca was even more excited. Their parents, Jane and Maurice were talking amongst themselves about their upcoming vacation.
"Rebecca, take a selfie with me!" The brunette's younger sister exclaimed. Nodding, Rebecca leaned over and the two made funny faces.
Fifteen seconds later, Rebecca had everything that she cared about ripped from her. The impact was quick. Screams of both sisters were the only things that you heard besides the sounds of metal on metal.
"Rosie! Are you ok?!" Rebecca screamed for her younger sister but there was nothing but silence. Just as she tried to move, there was a searing pain exploding through her entire body. The pain caused the nineteen year old to faint, the pain becoming to much.
2:40 p.m - Snapping out of the thoughts that had caused her nightmares for weeks on end, she looked up just in time to see Jace.
A sense of comfort and content settled over her. For some reason, which she didn't understand, she felt safe with Jace. The stranger had saved her from killing herself, as if fate was telling her that it wasn't her time...yet.
He smiled at her and motioned for her to come out. She nodded and got out, quickly walking over to him.
"I like your house," she said, her voice quiet. He chuckled and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her inside the house.
Before Jace could say anything, a guy, just a little younger than Jace, stepped in front of her and held out his hand.
"I'm Alexander, a better at everything and better looking brother of Jace." The fifteen year old said. Rebecca smiled widely and shook his hand.
"Rebecca and I'm kind of weird."
Alexander smiled at the girl before running back into the living room with his older brother, Evan, who looked at Rebecca and smiled.
"I'm Evan! Nice to meet ya!" He exclaimed before resuming the Call of Duty game.
She waved and then looked at Jace. He smiled and gestured for her to follow him to the kitchen.
She liked the house, the inside this time.
The walls were a nice beige color, giving the house a warm feeling. The couch, love seats and armchairs, all black. Pictures of the boys and their father hung all around the house, even ones of Jace naked.
