"Help!" A desperate wail was carried on the wind.

"Save me!" They pleaded, but it was all too late. Their hand was reaching toward (Y/n) who stood in terror, holding her arm from trembling. There was nothing she could do. Nothing at all. No matter how many years she had been in the Scouts, she could never get used to it.

It wasn't death that bothered her, but rather the longing expressions on their faces as they were ripped apart by the jaws of the large humanoid creatures.

Blood flew across the sky, landing in every direction as the innocent cadet was bitten in half. (Y/n) held herself steady, taking a deep breath. She leaped off the roof of the building she previously stood upon, and hooked onto the foul beast with her ODM gear. She flung herself down toward its nape, slicing it open with ease.

She landed onto a nearby roof, her feet causing it to clatter under her weight. (Y/n) wiped the remaining blood off her face sighing with aggravation. Her gaze shifted down toward the Titans body, steam flowing up toward the clouds from it's wound. "Serves you right," She spat, turning around and sprinting toward the next Titan.

This one seemed to be around 9M high, and she braced herself as she whipped around it steadily, readying her blades. Within seconds, she hooked onto its neck, flying toward it with immense speed. "Gotcha'."

She let out a victorious yell as her blades penetrated it's thick skin. She let herself fall to the ground with it, her feet staying put on it's head as it landed with a thud. "Damn. You didn't put up much of a fight," She tapped her foot on its scalp. "What a shame."

"Cadet!" A voice roared from behind her. She turned to recognize Commander Erwin, who was standing with his blades sheathed and his eyes locked onto her.

What's he doing? She wondered to herself. He usually stayed put in his squadron, giving orders rather than speaking to a single cadet, in this case, (Y/n).

"We're retreating! Hurry back to your post!" He shouted, gesturing back to where she was stationed.

"R-right!" She nodded, turning around and dashing back to her station, her hair lashing wildly in the wind as she leapt from rooftop to rooftop.

Though, it still was odd that he was alone. (Y/n) brushed iff any questions and continued onward.

"Cadet (L/n)!" A soldier shouted out, tugging on a horse's bridle. "Here! Take this!"

She landed neatly on the dirt beside them, a bit of dust flying upward. "Thanks," She pulled herself up onto her horse, tapping it with her feet to get it moving. Soon, they were all galloping side by side, heading toward the looming Wall that resided minutes ahead of them.

...

(Y/n) held her breath as she spotted a 13M Titan ahead of them, it's face morphed into a terrifying image. It was clearly an abnormal.

"That's why we're retreating?" She wondered aloud, biting her lip in question.

"Apparently it's killed around six people already," A girl, whom (Y/n) didn't recognize, spoke from beside her. "Not only that, but there are a few other Titans who're delaying the mission. It's best not to risk anyone unless absolutely needed. After all, we were sent to retrieve supplies, nothing more."

"I suppose that makes sense," (Y/n) agreed, looking at the other titans that the girl was pointing toward. Though, none of them seemed as much of a threat as the abnormal.

"Slow your pace!" A section Commander ordered as they neared the Abnormal. "Ready your swords!"

(Y/n) reached for her blades, still not pulling them out just yet. Her fingers rested on the handles as she eyed the Titan ahead. It suddenly charged, limbs flailing and head bobbing. It's feet rumbled the earth as it stomped over, hungry for human flesh.

(Y/n) readied herself, her blades began to show themselves as she pulled them slowly.

...

...

The titan was suddenly tumbling toward the ground, shaking the buildings nearby. (Y/n) blinked in utter surprise. She hadn't seen how or even when it happened.

Squinting, she spotted a figure standing atop its head.

"You better watch yourselves..." A low voice spoke out. "One mistake and you'll be swallowed up as titan fodder."

"Captain Levi..." (Y/n) whispered. She'd seen him many times before, in fact, she had been on almost every mission alongside him, yet she barely ever got to see him other then when he was in action.

His silky black hair whirled in the wind, steam rising from the defeated titan behind him. His eyes were empty, almost emotionless. He was truly humanities strongest, and there was no doubt about it.
