New Interview with New Spider-Man! Get to Know All About Tom Holland!

Hello and welcome! Thank you so much for being here!

Thank you for having me!

Now, Tom, you are the new kid on the block when it comes to Marvel. So how is it coming into that environment?

It's obviously very nerve-wracking because these are the people who I have looked up to for so long! I've been a Marvel fan for my whole life, so it's quite a dream being apart of it all. Everyone on set is so welcoming and friendly. They've really accepted me as their family, and RDJ has sort of taken me under his wing. The whole experience is wonderful.

The cast does seem like the kind of people to just bring anyone right in. You did say that you're close with Robert Downey Jr., is there anyone else on set that has become like a mentor to you, or just really helped you through filming?

They're all so great! I mean- if I ever need anything, I know who to call. Maybe not Anthony, he would just hang up.

Oh no! Well, what do you see as the possibilities with this new character?Obviously there are also Black Panther and this mystery character played by Laken Evans. How do you think Marvel will incorporate these story lines?

I've got to be careful with what I do and don't say because I could get in lots of trouble. Erm- I think Marvel always does a good job of intertwining each character to fit. There are so many routes with Spider-Man. Of course, I would like to do as much as I can. I love playing him. Recruitment of Team Cap and Team Iron Man is a big portion of the, uh, integration.

What a way to sneak around that one! I understand it's hard to not give away too much. So what is it like on set? What do you do to prepare for a scene? How do you relax?

I love just hanging out on set. When people aren't shooting, you can typically find someone to chat with. Once I got invited to "Downey-Town" which is like this village of trailers that Robert has set up because he's him. That was confusing and wonderful at the same time. Luckily, I hired my best friend Harrison as my assistant, so I've always got him around. And then my girlfriend and I always go get tea or run lines or just mess around on set. Prepping for scenes always looks a little different based on who I'm shooting with or what the context of the scene is. Obviously I have to stay in shape for any fight scenes or the copious amounts of flipping around I do. And after I just kind of chill in my trailer, go on my phone, read. Really anything to wind down. I try to talk to fans as much as I can, but it's not always the easiest thing.

Wow, that's a lot of information. You're one of the best people I've interviewed. These are great answers, and I'm sure the fans appreciate that. Now if I'm not wrong, I think I just heard you say 'girlfriend'.

Ahahaha, oh dear. I did, didn't I? Oh, I'm gonna be in such trouble.

I don't want to pry... but many fans tweeted at me asking me to ask about your costar, Laken Evans.

No, no, it's okay. I'm just not sure if she's going to be upset with me. Erm- most of the fans have figured it out. Yeah, um, that's my girl!

Oh wow! A Marvel romance! Will we see any of this transfer onto the big screen?

Who's to say? Neither of us control any of that. It's truly just what the directors choose.

Well, I know I am not the only one hoping for that! Thank you so much for your time, Tom! I'm so excited for this new movie!

Yes, of course. I'm just as excited as you are.

I put down my phone with my mouth hanging open in shock. Girlfriend? GIRLFRIEND? Since when did he ask me to be his girlfriend? What the actual fuck?

"Guys look at the interview I'm sending in the group chat," I say to Dakota and Kelsey. They both are sitting with me in my trailer while we wait for our lunch to be delivered.

"Holy shit," Dakota comments after a while.

Kelsey follows up, "When the fuck did you become his girlfriend, and why didn't you tell us?"

"JUST NOW! I HAD NO CLUE!" I respond.

We all just stare at each other in disbelief. Tom and Haz are bringing us food in about 5 minutes. How am I to go about this? While we wait, the girls try to help me figure out what to do. Should I go along with it and just start calling him my boyfriend? Should I make him really ask me out?

"Hey guys! We're back with food!" Tom's voice sounds as the trailer door opens.

He has barely set a foot in when Kelsey starts yelling, "Who the fuck do you think you are to just claim Lake as your girlfriend? I don't fucking care how much you do for her! Until you have that discussion, you do not deserve to call her your girlfriend! And in front of the whole world too! You're in for a rude awakening if you think you can just steal her away and not do anything to earn it!"

Tom and Haz stand in the doorway wide-eyed with the bags of takeout. Both Dakota and I are in shock at Kelsey's rant. Nobody really knows what to do. The trailer sits in silence, everyone too afraid to make the wrong move.

"Told you that would come back to bite you," Harrison comments.

"I hate to be that bitch, but can you guys leave for a little? I think Tom and I should talk alone," I say quietly. My voice is shaking.

Everyone clears out and takes the food with them. I was really hungry so I'm a little pissed about that. Plus it smelled really good.

"So," I begin awkwardly.

"Listen I can explain," Tom begins while sitting next to me on the couch. "I was just caught up in the moment while talking and saying girlfriend wasn't my intention. It just kind of happened. I couldn't go back from there or make up some other girl because that would be even worse for you. I honestly do see you like that, and I've been wanting to figure out how to make you my girlfriend. I never intended for things to go like this. It's just- I really like you. I don't want to make a wrong move. We kind of already act like were dating. And I don't know about you, but I'm not looking at anyone else right now. Besides that, I feel absolutely terrible if I put you through this and you're not at the place at all."

Tom spoke so quickly it was hard to keep up. His accent wasn't helping much either. I try to process and listen at the same time to his rapid fire words.

"Calm down, Tom. I understand how interviews can be. And I know you never would mean to do anything to jeopardize us individually or together. I just- I never really thought I would get asked out via interview. I have had my sights set solely on you since you replied to my tweet. But I need you to actually verbalize to me it if you want to be more," I tell him.

"I don't want to do it like this," he replies. I make a face of confusion.

He explains further, "I don't want it to seem like I'm only asking you out because I fucked up in an interview."

"I know that's not the reason though," I say.

"Give me 24 hours. Just so I can make something a little more special," he begs.

"Your time starts now," I smirk.
