I wake up to the sun peaking through the curtains and hitting my face. I look and see Michael is still peacefully sleeping on me. I picked up the book he was reading yesterday and start to read it until he wakes up.

"What time is it?" He asks grogily rubbing his eyes and sitting up.

"It's almost 10," I reply setting the book down on the nightstand.

"How long have you been up, you could've woken me up." He says as he gets up and stretches.

"I've been up almost 2 hours now and you looked so peaceful sleeping so I didn't want to wake you." I then get up and kiss him on the check and go to the kitchen to start making breakfast, well more of a brunch. Michael gets dressed and then takes over cooking so I can get dressed. I put on a pair of jeans and a flannel. I walked back into the kitchen as Michael finished cooking. We eat and then pack our bags with more rations, supplies, and clean clothes. Around noon we're finally ready to head out and load our stuff in the truck. I get in the drivers seat and start driving down to Lexington as Michael reads the newspaper.

"Hey listen to this princess, 'girl in Cynthiana mysteriously dies with weird tentacle burns on her." I quickly look at him with worry on my face.

"What's the quickest way to get to Cynthiana?" I ask with a worried expression on my face. Michael quickly pulls up the GPS and puts in the location. It starts telling me the directions and we head to Cynthiana as quickly as I can. We arrive in Cynthiana a couple hours later. We park and start looking around, we don't see anyone driving or walking along the streets. I then see the face of a frightened woman in one of the shop windows and watched he as she mouthed run and pointed to the community park, she quickly disappeared from view as she ran further into the shop to hide.

"It must be in that pond," I tell Michael as I grab my AR and start walking.

"Wait Elizabeth we need to be careful," he says as he slowly follows behind me.

"No I'm gonna blow it's head off before it can hurt another damn person." I quicken my stride and stop about 20 yards from the pond. I motion for Michael to stop and I toss a rock into the middle of the pond. A couple seconds later the octopus monster, the same type of monster that almost killed me and gave me my scar, surfaced sending a huge wave to shore. I braced myself as the wave hit me and Michael and quickly shot three clips of bullets into the monsters eyes and brain. I quickly tossed my AR to the side and pulled out my pistol unloading another clip into the monsters head.

"Just to make sure the damn things dead." I picked up my AR and walked back to the truck and sat in the truck bed reloading ammo into my clips.

"Are you ok babe?" Michael asks as he climbs into the truck bed.

"I'm perfectly fine." I quickly reply loading more ammo to the clips. Michael walks over and takes the ammo and clips out of my hand.

"I know your not okay, talk to me please." I looked up and he saw the tears in my eyes. He quickly wrapped me in a hug and I cried into his shoulder. He pulled away after a few minutes and wiped my tears away with his thumb. He kissed my forehead and took my hands in his. "I know one of those things attacked you, I know one them gave you your scars, I know you have bad and frightening memories from one of those monsters. But back then you didn't have me, and I'm here now, and I'll always be by your side." With that he kissed me and pulled me into another hug.

"I guess I'm not over what happened, I almost died and had a burning after affect to a while. Until you came along, I just don't want anyone to go through the pain I went through those couple of days because the pain was excruciating. I hope you'll always stay by my side, I can't do this without you." I say with a stray tear falling down my face, Michael quickly wipes it away.

"I'll always be here for you princess, you can't get rid of my that easily." He quickly hugs me again and takes my hand pulling me to my feet and helping me down. We then saw people emerging into the streets and cheering and crowding us.

"We will feast tonight and you must join us!" Someone in the crowd yells and everyone in the crowd  cheered in agreement.

"Well we can't disappoint them," I say to Michael and the people cheer. Next thing I know several women are dragging me towards a shop and Michael is surrounded by men ushering him into another shop.
