As me and Michael wake up we see that our truck is slowly sinking into a body of water. I quickly look at Michael making sure he's awake and then start quickly packing everything into our bags. The water is now up to the windows.

"OK you ready as soon as I break this back window you quickly grab the rest of the stuff and swim up." I put my backpack on and ball my hand into a fist then start punching the back window till it breaks and water slowly starts filling up the inside of the truck. I kick more glass away from where I broke the glass for Michael to get out. He quickly gets into the tailgate and grabs the rest of out stuff and jumps out of the truck, swimming to the shore. I quickly climb out of the window because the truck is almost fully submerged, I get cuts all over and some glass shards stuck in my skin as well as my right leg from kicking the glass earlier but I ignored the pain as I dive into the water. I quickly swim as fast as possible to the shore and am relieved to finally arrive back on land. I collapse exhausted and weak as my cuts are bleeding a lot. Michael rushes over to me and quickly starts treating my wounds, as I slowly lose consciousness.

I slowly wake up and am greeted with a huge wave of pain. I groan and Michael looks at me.

"Hey, take it easy. Way to join the land of the living." He comes over and helps me rest up against a rock on the beach.

"How long have I been out?" I ask looking at all the bandages.

"Six hours." I look at him in shock.

"Six hours, we have to get moving." I try to get up but Michael gently forces me to sit back down.

"No, you're not strong enough to walk yet. But while you were out I did a bit of surveillance and found an abandoned log cabin not too far from here in that forest. If we leave now we can make it there before sundown." I nod and Michael quickly starts packing up. He grabs our bags and picks me up. He carries me in his arms for what feels like forever but I finally see the log cabin in view. He sets me down on the porch with the rest of the bags and grabs a pistol.

"You stay here, I'm going to go inside and make sure it's abandoned." I nod and he goes inside, a couple minutes later he returns and says it's empty so he carries me inside and sets me down on an old couch and then brings the bags inside. I look around and see the place is covered in dust and spider webs but other than that the place is in decent shape. Michael grabs some of the firewood that was stacked up on the porch and puts it into the fireplace and lights it. It was getting pretty dark outside so Michael then went around and locked the door and made sure the windows were locked too, then covered them with some old cloth that was laying around.

"So how did we end up here, how did our truck end up in water?" I ask as I dig around in my bag for some dry clothes as mine are still pretty damp.

"I don't know, probably one of the lovely friends we're hunting."

"Probably. Is everything secured?"

"Yeah, do you need help with something?"

"Yeah can you help me change, I don't wanna catch a cold." He nods and walks over to the couch.

"Well let me see if the shower works, after being in that water and the sand, it'll be best to help clean your cuts to make sure they don't get infected." He kisses my forehead and walks to the bathroom for a couple minutes and comes back.

"Yeah water still works, want me to prepare you a bath?" I nod and he walks back into the bathroom. I hear the water running and he comes back and picks me up. He carries me to the bathroom and sets me down on the counter, I start undressing as he checks the water temperature to make sure it's not too hot. He comes back over and helps me take the bandages off then picks me back up and gently sets me into the tub. He makes sure I'm good and then leaves to start preparing some dinner. I lay in the bath relaxed, it had been a stressful past couple of days and I had so many questions from this morning. I hear a loud crash and I quickly stumble out of the tub and quickly wrap a towel around me as I limp to the kitchen, worried about what happened.
