I walk into the fog, I'm hoping somehow it leads me to what is causing this fog and possibly my real father. I walk in and see all the people on the bridge still screaming and some crying. I'm still weary because that tree monster might be around here still. After I cross the bridge I get in a truck as the highway is now pretty open. I try to turn the truck on but the engine won't turn over, so I get out and try a different car and the same thing happens.

"Great, I guess cars don't work in the fog." I mutter under my breath

I continue walking down the abandoned highway littered with abandoned cars. I'm walking for about 7 hours I'd say when I arrive back at my grandparents farm  maybe here I'll find a clue or something. I walk into the house and find that my grandparents aren't in the house and it's completely abandoned. Next is the barn and it's empty too. I've walked around most of the property and I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. I finally stopped in front of the pond feeling defeated.

"I really thought I'd find something here." I say.

As if in response a huge wave comes towards me soaking me and from the water emerges a huge, ugly octopus looking monster. It was enormous with loads of tentacles, several eyes and a bulbus head. I immediately grab my AR from behind my back and start shooting it's tentacles. It reaches one of its tentacles towards me and smacks the gun out of my hand. Next thing I know I feel a tentacle wrap around my ankle and move up my leg, wrapping around my stomach and then my neck. I quickly reach for one of my pistols but I drop it when I feel painful burns where the creatures tentacle was wrapped around me. I institively scream in pain from the burns but fight through the pain trying to grab the pistol that I dropped. The creature slowly pulls me towards it and continues to wrap its tentacle around me now wrapping down my arm that is reaching for my gun. I'm weak and tired but I can't die here I tell myself and with that I'm able to lunge forward enough and grab my pistol. I quickly turn around and shoot the monster in it's eyes emptying the clip. It relates it's grip on me and I quickly grab another clip and shoot it into it's head. I watch as the monsters body slowly goes limp and lifeless as I shoot it. I grab my stuff and walk back to the house and plop down onto one of the beds in the spare bedroom.

"That was harder than I expected." I tell myself. I grab a change of clothes as the monsters tentacle burned through my clothes where it grabbed me. I went into the bathroom and turned on the water in the shower.

"Well at least the water still works in the fog." I shower and change into a pair of leggings and a cropped tank top. I treated the tentacle burns with aloe to help with the pain, I already knew the burns were gonna scar but at least I'd be able to sleep comfortably. With those thoughts I drift off to sleep for the night. I wake up the next morning and grab some granola bars and pop tarts from the pantry and eat that for breakfast. After I eat I pack my stuff up, put on my holsters, put my guns in them, and throw on a jean jacket then head out the door. I think I finally know where to go now.
