We had been at the cabin for five days now. We mostly spent time relaxing and enjoying being like a normal couple for once but sadly we planned on leaving in two more days. I was out in the forest chopping more firewood while Michael was in the cabin sleeping. I was about forty yards from the cabin when I heard a branch break. I quickly raised my axe ready to strike whatever was out there as I looked around but I saw nothing but trees and other vegetation around me. I looked at the cabin and saw nothing around it which made me sigh in relief that Michael was safe. Just then something tackled me to the ground and knocked me axe out of my hand and out of reach. I quickly turn around to see a hooded person on top of me, pinning me to the ground. I try to break free for the persons grip but they're stronger and heavier than me. I go to scream for help but before a word can escape my mouth the person tapes my mouth shut. I struggle more trying to kick and punch them but it's no use and the hit the side of my head causing me to lose consciousness. The person throws me over their shoulder and walks away.

I wake up tied to a chair in a dark room. The only things I could see was a cart of tools, a light, and the chair I was in. I look around to see if there was anything I could use to get out and see a small puddle of blood by the side of the chair and realized that my head was bleeding from where the person hit me. I hear a door screech open and quickly look up to see a figure walking towards me.

"You're awake. Good." The figure says. They have a deep, hoarse voice and I realize that my capture is a man. He removes his hood and I realize he looks kinda familiar but I don't know why. He walks over to my chair and leans towards me looking me up and down. I get creeped out and struggle trying to break free and I'm wearing a cropped tank top and some shorts and I don't wanna find out what this man wants with me.

"Looks like you're still trying to escape, well this will just make my job even more fun." He laughs as he walks away towards his cart.

"What the hell do you want with me?" I ask still trying to get free of the rope that's tying my arms and legs to the chair.

"I don't want you. I want Michael, but I found you instead so we're gonna have some fun getting information from you about young Michael." With that he picks up a knife and walks over towards me.

****in the next part Elizabeth is tortured so if you don't wanna read that skip to the next chapter****

The man takes the knife and makes a small cut on my stomach which makes me grit my teeth in pain. I look down to see blood now slowly trickling out of the cut he made.

"You can make this easy for yourself and tell me what his plan is."

"Plan, what plan." The man frowns and cuts my stomach again but this time the cut is deeper and longer than the first. I whimper almost letting out a scream but I push it back.

"His plan to kill me." I look at him confused.

"Kill you why would he kill you." I yell at him but he didn't like my tone so he  cut my left cheek.

"Foolish girl, I hold you life in my hands so you best watch your mouth." I leans closer to me and stokes the cut on my cheek with his hand covering it in blood.

"See it's a shame to destroy that pretty skin but I need answers and you're gonna give them to me." I look at him in disgust. "So I'll ask you again, what is his plan to kill me?"

"Why would he kill you your no one." He laughs and slowly cuts my leg, the pain was too much that I scream in pain which makes him smile.

"But I'm not no one, I was the king's student. I can bring back the fog and make it twice as powerful." I look at him in realization, I had seen him at the fortress. He was always following the king like a puppy, but he was always in the shadows.

"I'm not going to tell you anything." He laughs and looks at me with his crooked smile.

"You say that now but you'll be begging for mercy." With that he cuts me more and punches me to make the cuts bleed more. The tortures me for hours enjoying every minute of it, all my screams of pain, all the blood slowly drippimg on the floor, and all my attempts to try to fight back completely failing. All the while my thoughts were consumed about how I had to keep Michael safe. I would die if it meant Michael was never harmed.
