THE NEXT DAY, CLAY took jade and patches back to his apartment, getting ready for the night ahead of them. jade was nervous, but she trusted clay and knew he wouldn't do any thing that would put her into a bad position. in the early afternoon, he was showing her all the basic controls and how to work all the basics.

at about five, clay got a discord notification from george, telling him that he was ready to call whenever.

"okay, they're ready. do you wanna call them now?" he asked her, and she nodded nervously. "everything is gonna be fine. remember, i'm right here."

clay opened up discord on his computer and went into the "dream team" group chat. jade laughed at the name, and clay had a funny look on his face. "what? it's catchy," clay hovered over the call button, looking down at her for a moment. "you ready?"

"yeah, do i have to call you dream?" she asked, still  trying to take everything in. it was intimidating knowing that someone she knew just as a dorky guy with a good taste in candle scents had such a big platform.

"no, they know my real name and everything. they mostly call me dream because that's what everyone knows me as online, it's a habit." jade nodded to his answer.

"okay, you can call now."

and with that, he rang both sapnap and george, and jade took a deep breath. sapnap, or nick, picked up first, soon followed by george. she wasn't sure what clay had told the pair about her, and didn't know how much she could say, either.

"hi! i'm sapnap! it's nice to finally meet you," he said as soon as he picked up.

"hi, it's nice to meet you too,"

"hi, i'm george, dream told us you're pretty," the british boy said, making clay shake his head and jade blush.

"okay, are we playing minecraft?" sapnap asked after a second.

"uh, yeah, do you guys wanna try and beat it?" clay suggested.

"sure! dream are you helping jade?" sapnap asked him.

"yeah, i taught her all the basics but be patient okay?" he said protectively. he placed his hand on her knee and used his other hand to open up minecraft. george launched the server, and clay joined it, teleporting jade to where george and sapnap were standing.

they started doing all the basics, getting wood, stone, iron, and going to the nether. george even got jade to fight a few blazes. jade got along really well with both of them, and made a note to get their numbers. eventually, they made it to the end and george and sapnap let jade get the final hit on the dragon.

"good job j!" clay said excitedly, giving her a quick peck on the lips.

"yeah, for your first time you did really good," george told her. "what's your number by the way?"

"thank you," she replied. she was proud of herself, and was glad to see clay get excited for her as well. she told george her number, and she got added to a group chat of him and sapnap.

"who're you texting?" clay asked, coming back from taking a shower.

"george and sapnap," she replied. clay nodded and pulled his wet shirt over his head, exchanging it for a sweatshirt. he layed in his bed, motioning for jade to follow. the two cuddled up, clay on his phone and jade watching the news.
