"WHY IS GEORGE TEXTING you?" clay asked her, seeing his name on the screen, but not the message.

"he's just telling me happy birthday," jade replied, texting him back a quick thank you. clay nodded his head, not thinking anything of it. george was always the type of guy to go out of his way for the people he cared about, and within the little while he had known jade, she became one of those people.

a week later, sapnap and george were set to land in orlando. they were flying in at five in the morning, so jade and clay stayed up all night instead of going to sleep. at around 4:30, they left their house and stopped at a mcdonald's to pick up everyone food and drinks. clay always made jade laugh, because he could eat so much in one sitting. she understood though, he was a giant.

when they got to the airport, they waited in their car until george texted clay that he landed. they went inside, waiting by a small gift shop. finally, after what felt like forever, jade saw george walking up to them.

"hi georgie," clay said to him. he gave him a hug, and then gave one to jade.

"hi j," he said to her, moving to stand next to her after releasing her from his embrace. "sapnap should be here soon, right dream?" jade had to do a double take, forgetting that's what they called him.

"uh yeah, do you wanna go to the car and eat before the food gets cold?" clay asked him. george nodded. clay led the way, jade and george trailing behind. when they got to the car, jade sat in the back with george so nick could have the front seat. he was the next tallest after clay, so she let him take it. after about twenty minutes, clay got a text that nick had landed. "do you guys wanna stay here while i run in and grab him?" the two of them nodded, and he left to go find the other boy.

george ate the cheeseburger meal that clay left for him, offering jade a fry every now and then. at one point, he handed one out to her, and she took it with her teeth, making him laugh hysterically. "you're an idiot," he told her. she pouted and crossed her arms. "wait no i'm sorry please forgive me," he said, frowning and grabbing her arm.

the two of them continued to tease each other for the rest of the time until clay returned with nick. they were laughing at something george showed her when nick came running up to the car. "jadey!" he said enthusiastically. she jumped out of the car, hugging him tightly.

"okay, come on, let's get back to my house, we can continue this when we get there," clay said laughing, putting everyone's luggage in the trunk and then getting into the drivers seat while nick got into the passenger seat.

"wow okay don't even say hi to me," george said to him, punching him on the shoulder.

"sorry, i was too busy talking to my one and only, am i right jade?" clay rolled his eyes at the younger boys remark, while nick laughed. jade joined in on the laughter, reaching forward to grab nicks shoulders.

"that's right papi," she said, unable to stay serious. everyone laughed at her remark, clay doing his signature wheeze.

when they got to clays apartment, they decided to watch a movie, deciding on 'truth or dare'. jade sat in between clay and george, nick sitting on the floor in front of her.

"you know there's a chair right there right," she told him, making him frown.

"yeah i know but i wanna be part of the group," with that, she frowned back and ruffled his hair, and continued watching the movie. she was leaning on clay, with george laying on her. eventually, she fell asleep, and nick got up to take a picture of all of them.

the next morning, jade woke up in clays bed, and she heard two boys bickering outside the door.

"what do you mean? the only reason you know her is because of dream, you'd be an asshole if you were to do anything."

"i know, i'm sorry i don't know what i was thinking i just- i don't know,"

"it's fine, george. i get it. just push it away okay? we can all be just as close,"

jade was confused, but decided not to think about it. she got up about ten minutes later, walking into the kitchen and seeing her two friends sitting at the island. 

"finally! you're awake!" nick said excitedly, george rolling his eyes.

"sapnap it's ten in the morning and i have such awful jet lag. please shut up," george said, his voice deep due to just waking up. jade walked over and punched him on the shoulder before brewing herself a cup of coffee.

"where's clay?" she asked after a moment, pouring half and half into the hot liquid.

"he went to go get george drugs i think," nick told her, shrugging.

"makes sense," she replied, looking at the sleepy boy. almost on command, clay walked in the door with a bag from the gas station. he walked over to jade, kissing her on the forehead, causing george to look down in his lap and nick to awe. he walked over to george, placing three five hour energy's and a bottle of nyquil in front of him.

"thank you," george said, opening and drinking one of the small bottles.

"no problem," clay replied, sitting down next to him. "do you guys wanna go to the mall? i need more jeans,"

"uh, yeah, when?" george asked, his tired voice still evident.

"now?"

"yeah, let's go," nick answered.

so with that the four of them got into clays car, returning to the same positions they were in previously. when they got there, clay and nick were having their own conversation about something, leaving jade and george trailing behind. "did you wanna go anywhere?" he asked her, looking at all the stores they passed.

"um, just the yankee candle. my store is closing and they relocated some people," she said, seeing the candle store on the other side of the rotunda. george nodded, walking in with her. clay and nick followed shortly behind them.

the group stayed in their pairs for the most of the time they were at the shopping center. after a little while, jades phone buzzed.
