a/n: long chapter to make up for literally NEVER UPDATING. i apologize 😚

it was the day before nick and george were set to leave. the trip was mostly uneventful, apart from the one obvious bump. they spent the week watching movies, being idiots in public, and making fun of george for sleeping all the time.

the tension that was in the air previously had disappeared, jade and george getting along like they once did.

"i have to go home and feed cinnamon, do any of you wanna come with?" jade asked, standing from her spot in between nick and george, clay in the kitchen making himself a cup of coffee.

"me! me! i do!" nick exclaimed, jumping up after her. george shrugged standing up too.

"i need to run to target, i need cat litter," clay mumbled, taking a sip of the hot liquid. jade nodded, grabbing her keys.

"okay, here. i'll be out in a minute," jade told the boys, tossing her keys to nick. he saluted and walked outside. clay set down his mug, walking over to jade.

"how long are you gonna be gone?" he asked her, placing his hands gently on her waist. she smiled at him, looking down.

"like, an hour i would think? we can pick up dinner on the way back if you want," she suggested, finally looking up at him. he hummed, a thinking look on his face. "whatcha thinkin' about?"

he huffed a laugh, shaking his head. "nothing. just a long week," he said, and jade pouted. "don't worry about it, go have fun. love you," he gave her a brief kiss and backed up into the counter. jade stared at her for a moment, the two words foreign.

"i will, love you too," she replied quietly, and started walking to the door. "text me what you want for dinner!" she yelled, and slammed the door behind her before he could reply.

she walked downstairs into the parking lot, seeing nick and george sitting in the driver and passenger seats. she cocked her head at them, nick smiling at the sight of her. he rolled the window down, poking his head out.

"get in! i'm driving!" he said, jade sighing and taking her seat in the back. he got her address, typed it into his phone, and handed it to george. he read off the directions to him, but jade finally decided to take over because george was confused.

they arrived at her house, jade taking her keys back from nick and bringing them upstairs. she welcomed them in, calling for her cat.

"okay, i have to tell you, he is absolutely no patches. the only person i have met that doesn't piss him off is clay, so watch out," she told them, laughing. they agreed and sat down in her living room, watching her go into her room. she picked him up, much to his protests, and brought him into the living room. she sat the long haired cat in george's lap, and he immediately hissed, but settled after a moment. she took a picture and sent it to clay.

jade fed cinnamon, giving him a small pat on the head before gathering the boys and telling them it was time to leave. it was nearing four so she figured they could drive around for a little after ordering food and it would be ready in a decent amount of time.
