a/n: i don't think i ever said it but covid doesn't exist in this book if that wasn't kinda clear already!

the next day was nick and george's last day in florida. they were leaving late in the day, so they wanted to live it as much as possible.

it was about 8 in the morning, and everyone except for george was awake. the other three were sat in the kitchen, jade and nick brewing coffee with clay sitting on his phone.

"we should go to disney," he suggested, not looking up from twitter.

"seriously?" jade asked him. she perked up for a moment before realizing she probably wouldn't be able to afford it. her seeing her work in front of her the day prior put everything into perspective.

"yeah. i haven't been there in forever," he replied, looking up the website on his phone.

"should i wake up george then?" nick asked, and clay nodded. he walked into george's room, and jade walked to the other side of the island.

"how much are tickets?" she asked him, peeking over his shoulder.

"don't worry about it, i got it," he replied. jade slapped him on the shoulder lightly.

"i can't let you do that, you do enough for me already."

"i'm serious, okay? don't worry about it."

jade kept her mouth shut for the remaining time it took nick to drag george out of the guest bedroom.

"hi," he said to the two, sitting down next to clay. "we're going to disney?" clay stayed silent for a moment, setting his phone down.

"tickets bought, let's go yeah?"

they drove the short drive to the park, stopping at starbucks on the way there. they took awhile to find a parking spot, but eventually found one and started walking their way to the park. they got in line, which took them about twenty minutes to get through, and they finally made it into the park.

"where first?" george asked, looking at the area around them. everyone shrugged.

"up to you," clay replied, grabbing jades hand from beside him.

they walked around for a little, george finally pointing out and deciding on pirates of the caribbean. they got in line, and nick let out a sigh.

"it's hot out here," he said putting his arms up in the air to stretch.

"you're from texas, how is this anything to you? it's just humid," clay laughed at him.

"exactly. i'm sticky," he replied, shaking his head.

"ew." george cut in, giving them both a face, causing clay to wheeze for a moment.

they continued to talk through the rest of the time they were in line, finally getting to the front after what felt like forever. they got into their boat, all sitting in a line with clay and nick at the edges and jade and george in the middle. the ride started, the light drop at the beginning making george let out a yelp, causing the others to laugh.

"shut up okay," he said, a fake upset tone in his voice.

the ride soon finished, the signature song playing over the speakers. the group got out and decided that they wanted to get drinks and go to the haunted mansion. they split into groups of two, clay and george on one cart and nick and jade on the other.

they enjoyed the rest of the day together, getting through as many rides as they could in the busy park. their final ride was clays pick, which was toy story mania. when they finished that, they went to eat dinner at the dinosaur restaurant in disney springs.

"i used to come here all the time as a kid," clay said when they walked in.

"i did too. i used to be scared of the dinosaurs," jade laughed.

they enjoyed their dinner together, all laughing at childhood stories that were being told. they ate fairly quickly so they could go home and grab nick and georges bags.

they got their things, both of them saying bye to patches and triple checking over their lists before getting back into clays car.

"ready?" he asked them both, turning to face them. they both nodded, nick taking out his phone.

they drove to the airport in near silence, a small joke being thrown around every now and then. when they got there, clay helped them take their luggage out, jade getting out shortly after. they all stood together in silence for a moment, before clay reached out to give nick a hug. george stared at jade for a minute before opening his arms, cocking his head in a way to ask for permission. she walked into them, squeezing him tightly. she moved over and hugged nick while george hugged clay.

"play me in 8 ball while i'm waiting, please," nick told her, tapping her back before letting go.

"okay. you're gonna lose," she laughed, a tense smile on her face. clay laughed at the two before moving to stand next to her.

"that's it then?" he said, raising his eyebrows.

"i think my flight is in like an hour," george said, pulling out his phone to check.

"mine is around then too," nick agreed, looking between clay and jade.

"have a safe flight you two, okay?" jade said, smiling at the both of them.

"just for you," george replied, grabbing his luggage from next to him.

both boys waved, turning and walking into the rotating doors. clay sighed and looked down to jade.

"what now?" he asked her.

"it's up to you, big man,"
