'Hey roomie' the ugly girl says to me as I unpack my trunk. I turn around and pull a fake smile. I really don't like her very much. And of course we have to share a dorm.
'I'm Pansy by the way. I'm sure you already know that though.'
'Oh are you famous or something' Sounded pretty stupid I know, but I couldn't think of anything else to say.
'Well no, well yes, but no. You see, I'm the prettiest girl in Slytherin and get all the boys.' She said proudly, acting as if it was true.
I scoff, 'Which boys have you dated then?' I really couldn't care less and knew she had to be lying. What would anyone see in her? I've known her for ten minutes and can already tell that she's a bitch.
'Dated? I don't dAtE' she mocked. 'I snog and tease' she crossed her arms.
'Snog?' British people are weird.
'You don't know what SNOGGING is?' she exclaimed, laughing in bewilderment. 'have you ever even kissed anyone y/n?'
'Obviously yes. We don't call it snog in America you idiot.' I roll my eyes.
'Ugh Americans. They're so gross.' she scrunches her face in disgust.
'Yeah yeah keep talking pug face.' I walk out of the room, hoping she won't follow me.
I go into the quiet common room and sat down on a couch. I started fiddling around with my wand, casting random harmless spells.
'Hey, y/n.' looking up I see the handsome dark boy smiling over me. 'I realized I never told you my name.' When I didn't say anything he sat down next to me and held out his hand for me to shake. 'Blaise Zabini' He chimes.
'Pleasure' I say, not meaning it. He wasn't rude, I just sensed something off about him.
'Blaise are you coming' The pale boy walked out of the boys corridor and over to the common room door.
'Yeah just give me a second' Blaise said, looking at me and smirking.
'Ah i see, claiming the new girl as your pet' Blonde boy said. I couldn't keep a small smile from creeping onto my lips.
'Shut up Draco. I get more girls than you.' Draco.
'Sure if you count Parkinson as a girl.' He scoffed and went out the door.
Blaise looked back at me and smiled. 'Sorry about him. He's proper annoying'
'I expect you are too' I said calmly. 'I mean, you are friends, right?'
'Sure. He's not much of a friendly guy though' I sit for a second and decide I'm a bit tired.
'Didn't he want you to go with him?' I ask, getting up.
'Yeah we're going to go ride around the quidditch arena for a bit and practice.' I've heard about quidditch. We don't play it in America, and it's rather confusing to understand.
'I thought there isn't quidditch this year because of the Triwizard Tournament.' That was about the only thing I remember from the speech tonight.
'We still need to practice though. Can't afford to let our team get rusty.' He says. 'I reckon we'll be much more advanced next year due to Bailey's intense practices starting this year.'
'Bailey?'
'Jack. Jack Bailey. He was made the new caption after Flint graduated last year. We were all a bit weary of letting him lead- He's a softy. But I spoke with him on the train and he seems very determined to whip us all into shape.'
I don't care much for quidditch, but so far I'm not doing too well on the popularity yet, and I can feel my chances slipping.
'Can I come with?' Man, Hogwarts was making me hella brave.
'Huh? Come with me where?'
'To the arena. To watch you practice? It's okay if you don't want me to. I just don't know very much about quidditch and want to learn.' I'm hoping he says yes so I can talk to him more. He gives off a weird vibe but he's still hot.
'Oh yeah sure. C'mon.' He smiles and motions to the door. I happily follow him out and we start a new conversation.
'So why did you move here from America?' His accent was hot.
'My mom got a really good job in the ministry.'
'Oh. What job? Is she an auror?' No, she's an unspeakable. I'm not sure whether or not I should tell Blaise this, since she works in the department of mysteries and was sworn to secrecy. No one really knows the extent of what they do. Not even me.
'Um yeah, she's an auror.' I lie.
We make our way to the arena and see Draco walking out of what I'm assuming is a broom closet. He looks up at us and rolls his eyes,
'What is she doing here?' He seems very ticked off by me.
'She wanted to watch.'
'Why?'
'We don't have quidditch in America and I want to learn how to play.' He looks at me as I speak, confusion rolling over his face.
'Do you expect him to teach you?' Okay seriously this kid has an attitude.
'No. I just want to observe.'
'That'll do you no good with only two of us playing. Besides, Blaise is a chaser and it's not particularly interesting to watch him without a keeper.' He acts like I should know this already.
'Then teach me how to play.' I take a step closer to him to show him I'm not scared of him.
Draco looks me up and down slowly before scoffing and climbing on his broom.
'Let's go get brooms.' Blaise turns to me and says. I nod and head to the closet with him. I find a broom that's in okay shape and bring it out. Draco is hovering over the middle of the field, impatiently waiting for us.
The rest of the night is filled with flying, blocking, throwing, and beating, as the two boys attempt to teach me the art of quidditch. I'm actually starting to catch on and I think I'm actually a pretty good chaser. Either that or Draco's a terrible keeper.
Blaise is starting to grow on me very quickly and I can definitely see that the feeling is mutual.
