He thinks about thoughtless gentle kisses that will lead to nothing but quite giggles and warm grins.
How he'll pull away and she'll smile, in a way that makes his stomach drop, with her tongue poking out in between her teeth. He'll ask her, "What're you thinking about?"And she'll look at him for a little bit, she'll hesitate but she'll say, "You."
He thinks about early mornings where he'll watch her sleep. How her hair will be scattered on his mattress and her arms will be resting on his chest. She'll smile when she wakes up, like her reality is much better than her dreams. He'll kiss her good morning and she'll bite her lip and make a joke about his morning breath. He'll say, "Let me go brush my teeth," In mock annoyance but she'll grin and say it's okay. She'll say she doesn't care and then kiss him again and again.
He thinks about slow dancing in the parking lot. There'll be snow and the sun will just be setting, she'll shine with an orange glow and Dwight will play some stupid rock song from his car that isn't meant for dancing but he'll take her in his arms and dance anyways. She'll wrap her hands around his neck and look him in his eyes. She'll say, "This is much better than swaying."
He gets a little lost in the fantasy and starts to think about proposing. It'll be something simple and something memorable that can become an inside joke with her. At least, that's what he wants to happen. He tells himself he'll probably be impatient and will end up proposing to her in the middle of the cereal isle at Walmart.
He thinks of late night cool downs where they'll simply joke with each other. Simply touch each other in ways he'd never knew was possible. How he'd discover bits of skin he never knew existed and she'll say his name in a way that he's never heard before. She'll say it in a way that makes him shiver and lose his mind.
He thinks of all the ways he'll keep her safe. All of the things he would do that Roy wouldn't. How he'll keep her warm on late winter nights. When the Air Conditioning is being annoying and she'll subconsciously move closer to him in her sleep as they're surrounded in 10 tons of blankets. He thinks of how he'll wait in his car to make sure she got inside safely, how she'll call right as she opens her door and stare at him from her window, she'll give him a small wave and that's when he feels okay driving off.
He thinks of humid summer evenings and he thinks of popsicles. He has this image of all of these popsicles sticks that they'll use to make small houses and random towers, seeing who could make the tallest one. They'll play stupid games and declare a winner based on who has the least amount of brain freezes or whoever has the most wrappers. He imagines her changing up the rules each time because she so badly wants to win. And he'll catch her cheating but he lets it slide, it's worth losing as long as he gets to see her smile.
He thinks of the beach. How she'll hesitate and stand on the sand until he has to grab her and toss her into the water.
He thinks of sunburns. How he'll have to place aloe on her shoulders and stomach. She'll try to make fun of him and call him a Masseuse, and that's when he'll forcefully poke her on her burnt back making her yelp out in pain. She'll playfully slap him on his arm and he'll continue to soothe her bare shoulders. He will laugh and then automatically feel bad when he sees the pale skin slowly fade into red.
He'll kiss her where it hurts and she'll laugh, say something about him being sensitive.
She'll say "I love you, Masseuse."
He thinks of all of the things they'd do if she were finally his.
