(Disastrous) Grom Night

I've heard that tomorrow is Grom Night, the day Grometheus, the fear bringer tries to break out of its prison. I've been listening to the streets more often than usual.

I heard that the youngest Blight, Amity, was going to be Grom royalty, "Sucks for her" you chuckled "At least it ain't me, and I'm far away from that school and school life, other wise, my greatest fear would've been sooo embarrassing."

It was nearly hitting dusk, I took a stroll in the marketplace, with my staff in hand, to do my daily guarding duty. It was a good thing I was stationed outside the castle, I didn't want to be stucked in that place, it has an almost eary and I always get that sort of vibe where I'm being watched no matter where I go.

Fortunately, there weren't any one causing trouble, except for some Hexside delinquents vandalising and performing antiques, but I could care less.

You could say I prance and skipped around town a few times, like a child playing, until I walked a familiar path, one leading to Hexside. "Well, let's see where this is going." I said to myself, "I can't wait to savor the pain of rejection and failure of other kids that were neglected by that silly thing called love." I smirked so evil and  gleefully, but to my surprise, almost all the kids at Hexside got a partner.

"Oh, what a shame" I sighed in disappointment, I was expecting more tears and sorrow, not hormonal teens making out. The presence of a similar figure or two caught my attention, I quickly cast a spell and teleported behind a tree.

"So, who's the lucky guy that asked you out, Em?" Edric questioned his twin with a smug look, "Bold of you to asked, I should ask you the same question, Ed, about the poor souls that asked you out" Em playfully hit her brother's arm, "Hey, no one can resist the Blight's charm" said Ed, with confidence, "And you were dumb enough to accept, I don't know who I should pity more, you, or that person that asked you out." Emira's Comeback hit Ed in places he never thought would get affected.

I eves dropped on their little conversation, I never would have anticipated that the Blight girl, the same girl that rejected you, would even consider going out with someone, well, pity them, I  mean, what was love for anyway, for shits and giggles? Until someone gets hurt, you look for the door.

"Well, love never wanted me, but I took it anyway" I said to myself, I then noticed the youngest Blight sibling running into the woods all by herself, the sounds of her footsteps echoed through the forest, I wanted to follow her out of curiosity, but my attention was still at the Blight twins. I was a curious who would ask them out, but I don't want my cover blown, so I just wait it out until tomorrow to find out.

The Next Day

Grom Night was today, and I just finished my daily shift, I'll head out to Hexside and see what was going on, but I won't be going in, I'll just watch from a birds eye view.

I bought my staff with me and floated towards Hexside, I looked at the brightly lighted school and the colorful lighting emitted from inside of the Gym, where the ceremony is being held.

"Sure is busy today, eh, Adler?" I said to my Palisman as we were levitating, I looked down to see a students with their partners, this bought you some Nostalgia from your first Grom Night, not that you had a date back then, but your damn brothers did, Taurel and Foster, I missed them, they let you come even though you never were hooked up with someone. I think I'll visit them after Grom.

After of floating for a while, I got bored and decided to come down for a bit, greet some old friends and maybe teachers. I bumped into the Principal first though, "Ahh, Korril Burroughs, what business  does the Emperor Coven want from Hexside, especially in this special night?" Principal Bump questioned my sudden appearance, "Surely you didn't just come for duty, didn't you?", I only answered him "No, Sir, I just wanted to come here and say hi to a few of my friends, this night brings back so many good and bad memories.", "You never had a date before, right, Korril?" the Principal asked me, "Well, it's complicated, I just got rejected." I gave a straight answer.

I entered the school building and peeped behind the Gyms entrance, there, I saw Emira wearing a golden dress, her hair fixed, with her brother who seemed to be wearing a gold suit. "Well, at least someone's having fun." I quickly exited the school as the ceremony was about to begin. I floated back up with my staff, and watch the events that unfolded with Grom Night, and boy was it intense.

Grometheus had escaped, I watched as the new Grom Queen, which was the rumoured Human in the Boiling Isles, battle it out with an enchanting dance with Amity, with spells and what appears to be paper glyphes.

Grometheus defeated, I popped open a drink inside my bag that I had supplied and cheered from above "Atta girl, that's how it's done." I began drinking down the bottle of liquor as I watched the two Grom Queens being carried away with the crowed, along with a little Demon Canine. "Huh, I wonder what happened to the other Blights." I said to myself, I went and fly back to school.

I saw the two oldest Blights, sitting on the stairs behind the school entrance, in this dark and cold night, I've noticed the sad and upset look in their faces, but I already know this feeling all too well.

I landed on the other side of the school and watch as the Twins were mourning and complaining about their night. I couldn't belive it, the twins, especially Emira Blight, got stood up by their Grom date, this bought a smile to your face and you nearly let out a laugh, revenge never tasted so sweet, but why do I feel so bad? So empty?

"I'm such a loser." I said to myself, "Perhaps I should just go talk to her in person." I sighed, "No, that's a terrible idea, but then again, I'm talking to myself." I decided to man up and go confront the now sad Emira personally.

"Ehe-ehem.... Hello-" Before I could finish my sentence, the Blights twins stood up and twirled their fingers around, ready for a fight, I can see why, "Please, I understand your distrust, but I'm not here to further the pain." I reassured them, Emira spoke up, "You shut your damn mouth, Burroughs." Emira said, "You had this coming." Edric joined in, I was impatient and a little bit stressed, "Do we have to do this now?"

"What the hell do you want, Korril?" Emira glared at me "If you're here picking a fight, well, you'll get it." Edric continued.

*Sigh* "This will be a long night" I pulled out my staff with my Palisman's eyes glowing a vivid red, I was about to make the first move, until.....

"STOP!"
