???: "MOMMY, DADDY!"

A loud, faint call from the other room called, this felt rather strange, but, somehow familiar. I was lying on a soft, comfortable mattress, as I open my eyes a bit, my vision was still blurry, I turn to my side and noticed a figure next to my side, I couldn't make out who or what it is, but I couldn't help the fact that it's upper portion was of green color. The voice called again.

"Daddy!"

I bolted my eyes open and jumped off from bed, my vision was spinning all around, I found my self in my dorm room. "What happened?" I said to myself as I tried to recall what happened yesterday.

Intermission

So, after that Flip-top, and throwing practical insults at Emira, on the Hexside campus, I flew to my parents place promising to visit. I knocked on their door and greeted them.

Taurel and Foster, my younger siblings, were the first ones to open the door. "Korril? What are you doing here?" Taurel asked, "Brother!" Foster jumped of excitement. "Can't a family member have a drink with his Family?" I replied.

They invited me in, my house wasn't that big, just those large homes located just outside the marketplace. My mother was surprised to see me and hugged me, I hugged her back, father noticed me and asked how was the Emperor's Coven?

"Good news, I was promoted to 1st Lieutenant." I said with almost no emotion, My family was surprised, though, it has been a while since I messaged them. "That's my boy, keep it up and maybe one day you'll be promoted to Coven Leader." My mom's expectations were high, "Mom, I don't want to be in that position, too much paper work." I said to her, "Or, is it because you won't get to drink like you used too." Taurel teased me, everyone in the room laughed.

"By the way, you have problems with that Blight girl, right?" Taurel asked me, "Why, what's wrong, what happened?" My mom asked worriedly, I turned my eyes on my side and stuttered "I... Uhm-", "He had a battle of words, and disgusting insults with one of them." Taurel answered, as I guessed, he was among the crowed that eves dropped.

"Oh, that's not so bad." Dad said, "Uhm.... You wouldn't believed how bad was it, I had to cover Fosters ears." Taurel looked at me saying 'bruh', "I couldn't understand what they were saying bacause Taurel covered my ears, I wanted to listen." Foster was being childish, "Turst me, those words aren't for-", he was disturbed and pushed aside by Grandma.

"You finally have a Staff?" She asked me with a surprised tone, "Uhm... Yeah, how did you know?" I ask her, "I saw someone flying overhead by my window and wondered if it was that wild witch, Eda.", "No, that's Adler, he's my Palisman." I pulled out my Palisman and presented it to them. "Woah!" Fosters eyes were sparkling, "Well, look at you, flexing.", Taurel praised me, "Oh, I thought the materials used for making these are long gone?" Mom asked whilst my grandma swiped my staff fromy hands and expected it.

"No, mom, I happened to stumble on.... A single, large chunk of wood and created it, with the help of Ms. Lilith.", I replied, "Ms. Lilith, Lilith, the Coven leader?", Grandma asked, "Yes, she was the one that got me in the Coven, an dgo tme out of trouble."

"That explains everything, why did she helped you making a staff?" Taurel asked, "Well, I am one of her subordinates, and placed under her command, she was the one who promoted me to a Lieutenant." I answered his question.

"Well, Staffs are rare these days, I used to have one, until I mistreated him, and he ran away." Grandma told me her story, I removed my Palisman on the staff and placed his talons in my arm. "Everyone, meet Adler, my Palisman, and Partner.", Adler screamed a low pitch noise.

After that, I had a drink with my relatives, My brother, dad, even my mom joined in, Foster couldn't drink, because, he's still a child, but he playe with my staff's Palisman and got along. After a couple of bottles, I was a little dizzy, I thanked my parents and bid them farewell as I flew back to my dorm, I entered in my window, hoping I didn't entered the wrong room, I circled around and said, "Yup, ya' did it". I removed my boots and Cape using magic, and I slipped in a red, buttoned up Tunic, and some shorts, then passed out on my bed.

"*Sigh* Maybe drinking 7 bottles wasn't such a good idea, especially since I had a couple before going to my Parents place."

I stretched out my arms from a hangover, and made breakfast. Fried, Demon eyes, and Tohopka chum meat. After eating, I went to take a shower, changed to my EC uniform.

Patrolling the streets in case of any suspicious activities, I came across a very, very suspicious alley way. It lead to the Night Market, "Perhaps I should do a little undercover mission at night." I said to myself, I then reported back to the Emperor's Castle to get my new assignment from Ms. Lilith.

Lilith began the briefing accompanied by a rank of EC members. "Burroughs, I need you to scout outside town, and search for the Owl Lady in the forest of Bonesborough.", Upon hearing my orders, I was hesitant to say no, after all, Ms. Eda, The Wild witch of Bones Borough, was my idol. I was probably the only EC member who doesn't want to arrest her.

"Something wrong, Lieutenant?" Ms. Lilith reassured me. "N-nothing, Madaam Lilith.", I stuttered, "Good, bring the men with you, you'll be leading the front row, and report any wild witch activities when you return, catch any wild witches if possible, but you're main goal is Edalyn Clawthorne." We saluted after the briefing, I then lead the men to their destination.

Like this mission would even be possible anyway, capture Ms. Eda, not to mention that intimidating bird tube that lurks in the deep woods. Thinking about your past encounter with that 'Thing', brings chills down your spine. With me is my Staff, a sword, a portable knife, and a dozen men to help apprehend the Wild Witch, Eda.

I actually enjoyed my walks in the forest, but, after that Bird Thing bounced on me, I'm starting to regret walking in the woods, Again, while being sober. The men and I were hastily making our move on the location were the Owl Lady's house was located, I ordered them to stop for a while so I can scout for an opening, all I ever saw was an extended tube, and a voice slowly, and more loudly coming in our position.

"What the hell is making all that noise?", until, suddenly....
