(Basically what this chapter is about is what the title implies, also my sincere apologies for not updating for months)

Korril's P. O. V

The Holiday was closing in, our drunken witch decided to spend his day offs with his family prepping and enjoying the season, hoping to get away from the drama and the Coven.

"Korril, dear~ have you seriously nothing to say to that Blight girl after she rejected you, you were so obsessed with her aft-" Korril's mom suggested before she was cut off by her own son, "I would have had done it, if only our every encounter didn't result to either colorful insults, or violent behavior." He replied whike setting up the lights.

He sighed as he continued helping out redecorating, it was no use thinking about it anyway, "Let us enjoy the holidays for now, as a family. Who knows when we will have this chance again." for once, Korril wasn't actually being so negative, or mean. Sure, he still held a special place in his heart for Emira, but includes his family and allies.

As he finished his task he called out to his mother who was preparing the meal "Mom, where did father put that Grade A Apple Blood?" his mother knew he was going to ask her that, as she sighed knowing she predicted his sons predicament. "Korril, dear, I know how much you like to drink, you followed in the Burroughs long line of alcoholics, but could you at least wait until dinner?" Korril murmured, "Very well, mother~"

As he was about to gather the plates and silverware, someone tugged his shirt form behind, he turned around to see that it was just his little brother "Hm, and what do you need of me, dear Foster?"

Foster looked at him curious and asked him in a sheepish voice "How is the Emperor's Coven treating you? I know you've hated them." Korril sighed, "I was forced to 'like' them, and do their bidding as a sort of part of a deal." meanwhile, the middle child, also my baby brother, Taurel, signalled me to come over.

"Ay, Captain K, c'mere and enjoy the troll gin, dad and uncle Rufus made sure they're cold." Korril smiled and nodded his head, "Coming, dear brother." Their mother sighed, "Just make sure you boys aren't drunk enough after dinner, I could still use the help."

Korril went over to the othe members of the family, enjoying a cold one, while Foster was obviously not old enough to drink, but was happy to be included.

During their blabbering and laughing, our Drunken Protagonist couldn't help but gaze upon their sad unlce. Korril got up, went closer to him and sat down.

Unlce Rufus was staring at an old photo of when he was still a Hexside student. Korril noticed a familiar figure of said photo, a younger version of their uncle right next to a pale skinned witch, with long, curly, orange hair. Rufus at this point was smiling, softly laughing, and crying at the same time.

"Uncle, are you alright?", upon hearing his nephew, he quickly snapped out of his world and hid the photo in his pocket. "O-of course, dear nephew, why wouldn't I?" he faked a smile holding back tears, Korril noticed this and remnidned him, "It's going to be OK, let us enjoy this as a family while we still have the chance."

Rufus smiled and patted Korril on the head, trying not to show weakness and sadness. "Alright, let's just enjoy this while we still can, who knows when your next day off will be?" Upon hearing his comment, the rest of the family laughed. "Oh, har-har, ass swipes!" Korril snarled at them while they laughed.

(What's up? This is going to be a short chapter for now, I'll be continuing this again, soon. And again, I would like to apologize for being inactive, college has been really hard. Until then, I will see you beautiful bitches later~)
