Beck's Big Break

Arielle sat between Beck and Jade, quietly munching on her apple, when André and Tori approached their table.

"Hey, join us," Beck offered, but Jade interjected, "I don't want them sitting here."

"André is always welcome with us," Arielle smiled warmly at André, trying to diffuse the tension.

"One moment you're nice, the next you're just like Jade," Tori remarked, giving Arielle a scrutinizing look.

"I'm a triple Gemini," Arielle shrugged nonchalantly, and Tori nodded in understanding. "That makes sense," she conceded.

"Ooh, script pages," Tori noticed the papers in Beck's hands. "It's for a movie called 'Miss Fire'," Beck explained. "And the lead is Melinda Murray," Arielle added.

"Shut up," André exclaimed, clearly surprised.
"You're starring with Melinda Murray?" Tori asked Beck, her eyes widening with curiosity.

"Well, I'll be playing waiter number one, with just two lines, if I get the part," Beck explained modestly.

"You'll get it. I believe in you," Arielle leaned over to kiss Beck on the cheek, and he smiled gratefully. "Thank you," he said before Arielle suddenly winced, touching her arm.

"Fuck," Arielle muttered, feeling a sharp sting. André exclaimed, "Seriously?"

"Alexa, play 'Pain' by Nessa Barrett," Arielle sighed, resting her head on Jade's shoulder.

"What did you do to my pants?" Tori demanded, addressing Beck in various tones as they sat in class.

"Sorry, guys," Beck apologized as he walked into the room.

"How was working on the movie?" Cat asked Beck with interest.

"You know," Beck shrugged, trying to play it cool.

"Beck, you're late," Sikowitz noted with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm sorry, there was—" Beck started to explain, but Sikowitz cut him off.

"Say it like a robot," Sikowitz instructed, eyeing Beck intently.

"There was a problem with the lighting, I'm sorry," Beck recited robotically.

"Wrong. You expressed regret. Robots don't have emotions," Sikowitz corrected with a mischievous grin.

"Beck, sit down and tell us about the movie," Sikowitz instructed, motioning for Beck to take a seat next to Arielle.

"My call time was at 5 AM. They did my hair, makeup, and the costume designer even came to my dressing room—" Beck began.

"Wait, the costume designer was in your dressing room?" Jade interrupted with a playful smirk.

"Was she cute?" Jade teased, and Arielle chuckled softly.

"He was adorable," Beck admitted with a smile.

"Did you get to meet Melinda Murray?" André asked eagerly.
