season four | episode three
Opposite DateArielle has been up since two am when she forces herself to drink another energy drink and walks to her lunch table and she sits down between Beck and Tori before she puts her drink down, slapping Beck's hand away when he tries to take it. When he apologises something feels wrong in her gut so she just gives it to him. "What are you losers going off about?" She tries to ignore the pit in her stomach, pushing her hair back and out of her face.
"We're going to a museum tonight," Tori explains.
"We can't go. We have to entire a competition. They're giving away three pear pads," Robbie speaks up. "Wait, so I have to go alone?" Tori moans and all Arielle wants to do is rest her eyes when neither of them are looking at her and on her phone she's too busy with a Which Jonas Brother Am I quiz to care about it.
"Don't worry, kid. I'll go with you," Arielle watches as the guys leave, her eyes on Beck before she clears her throat, the exhaustion has gotten to her brain and her stomach cause watching him leave makes her feel like she's drowning. She looks back at her phone and answers the last question on the quiz. "Actually, I can't go. I'm busy," Tori says picking up her pear pad, going back to whatever book she was reading online and when Arielle looks over she's reading a Leigh Bardugo novel and it makes Arielle look away.
"You just said you could like five seconds ago," Arielle says taking a sip of Tori's drink as the girl laughs, taking the water bottle from her friend.
"I can't go with just you, okay," Tori says as Arielle frowns, has her last brain cells depleted or is Tori sending her mixed signals.
"Why not?" She questions, trying not to sound too tired. "If it's just the two of us, it'll be like a date,"
"It's not a date. It's more of an opposite date. Cause we don't like each other like that," Arielle explains, trying not to laugh, it would be weird if they went on a date, Jade has accused her of liking Tori but their friendship was just that, an innocent friendship. Plus all she cared about was that she got Kevin Jonas in the quiz, it makes sense and it makes her laugh a bit.
"Yeah, I can see that," Tori looks over at her phone and Arielle gets up. "It's just who I am, pick you up at seven," she says picking up her drink. "See you," Tori says as Arielle walks away. She spends all of classes trying not to fall asleep and drinks multiple energy drinks and even has some cheesecake that her mother made them this morning.
When she got home she didn't have time to sleep, she had to study for an important history test she would have in two days, a history test that would determine whether she passed or failed this semester. She hadn't done that well in her geometry class and needed the extra help. Although she went to Hollywood Arts, her father made her go to another school during weekends that focused more on what he calls actual work.
Later that night she and Tori are walking to a food truck and she has another energy drink in her hand. "It's nice hanging out with you," Arielle says putting her arms behind her back, strolling down the street. "On an opposite date," Tori is as awkward but Arielle laughs.
"Okay but just for curiosity, what would a date with Arielle Winter look like?" Tori gently shoves Arielle who can't help but shove her back.
"I probably would've put on a dress, one that was right above my knee so you could see my perfect legs, and we'd go to an art gallery or a concert, something that would show you my love for art. And at the end of the night I'd walk you home or drive you depending on how far we are from the art gallery and I'd walk you to the door and I can't tell you what happens after that, it's confidential," Arielle smiles and Tori goes beet red. "Yeah, I get it," Tori says as they walk up to the door truck. Arielle orders a hot dog, fries, and a drink for herself, and Tori orders for herself too.
