MAI'S POV-:
I need to run.
I need to get out of here before I'm dragged all the way to an unknown country by a complete lunatic!
I've come up with a plan.
But I can't set it into motion till Taehyung doesn't leave the house.
"Mai?" I heard a knock on the door.
"Are you done in there?" God! He won't let me have a moment of peace.
"Yeah. One sec." I responded quickly, not to sound suspicious.I shut the shower faucet, wrapping a towel around my wet body.
I wiped off the steam on the surface of the mirror to get a better view of myself.
I looked like shit.
The impact of having to sleep next to the man I loathe, was showing its effects under my eyes.
I hadn't exercised for days, so my toned muscles, seemed to show a gradual transition to rolls, triggering major insecurities I had carried since I was 13.I need to get out of here ASAP.
I stepped out in a bathrobe, walking past Taehyung to the closet to grab some clothes. But he followed.
He stood behind me, I could feel his breath tickling the nape of my neck.
He wrapped his arms around my waist, inhaling my scent.
A sigh of satisfaction escape his lips.
"I love this scent on you."
I stayed quiet, not wanting to engage. He slowly kissed my neck, sucking on my skin. I bit my tongue to control my moans. I knew well that he was trying to get a reaction out of me.
I could feel him smirk against my skin.
"You don't give in without a fight, do you?" He teased.
"Never." I declared, boldly.
He chuckled.
"I'll break you eventually, Angel. There'll come a day when you'll be begging for my touch." The confidence in his voice was daunting."You better fix it by the time I get there, or I will. And that won't end well for you." He growled, harshly on the phone, making me pity whoever was on the other line.
I continued munching on the bowl of strawberries in front of me.
He took a sip of his coffee, as bitter as he was.
"The coffins have been dispatched. They should be there in two days."
Anders announced, earning a cursory nod from Taehyung."Coffins?" Taehyung ignored my sudden burst, continuing to scroll through his phone.
"You can't be serious! Are you really taking dead women with you, to Italy!" I was beyond enraged. It was absurdity.
"Don't worry Angel, you'll have my undivided attention." Taehyung mocked smugly.
"How can you be so fucked up!" I yelled, knowing it won't end well for me.Taehyung got up from the table and walked over to my end. He stood in front of me, towering me.
"You of all people should know that I'm beyond fucked up." He hissed, making me gulp.
"Don't ever question my decisions again Angel. I'm warning you. Whatever I say, goes. If I ask you to stay, you stay. If I ask you to jump, you bloody jump." He gritted making me flinch.
"Am I clear Mai?"
"Y-yes." I gave in. I really didn't want to give him an excuse to stay back to punish me.With that he turned and left the dining room, not saying a word.
Anders gave me a sympathetic smile, but I looked away and left.
Besides I don't want him to be nice to me. Not after what I'm planning to do. It would be easier if he'd hate me instead.
I stayed in my room, watching every hour tick by.
Time moved so exhaustingly slow today. But finally my wait came to an end.I heard the sound of a car engine and doors of a car closing. I jumped out of bed to peep out of my window.
I saw Taehyung instructing Anders something, before he started ascending into the car. But before he was in completely, he glanced up to my window, meeting me straight in the eye. Fuck.
He smirked my way, giving me a playful wink before he got in the car and drove off.He knew. Or did he? His face....It almost felt like he was daring me to try what I had in mind.
No. I need to stop thinking and start doing. I'm leaving even if I have to die trying.
I made my way to the kitchen. I saw Mrs Stevenson in the kitchen garden, picking out tomatoes.
This was my chance.
I quickly grabbed the largest knife I could spot.I made my way to the kitchen garden, and crept behind her stealthily. She shrieked when I tackled her, pressing the knife against her neck.
"Miss Stone!! What are you doing!" She yelled hysterically.
"Don't do anything stupid Mrs Stevenson. I would hate to have to hurt you." I warned, as her breath quickened."Miss Stone! Drop the knife immediately!" I heard Anders shout behind me, making his way to us.
We turned towards him, and he looked both furious and uncertain of what to be done. That's a first.
It wasn't long before about twenty odd men surrounded us, pointing their guns at me. But I didn't cower. I stood stronger than I had ever before.
"Miss Stone, please, release Mrs Stevenson at once!" Anders was now hysterical and I knew why. He's had a thing for Mrs Stevenson, since forever. Anyone with a pair of eyes could see how smitten they were with each other. And when someone you love is in danger, rationality usually takes a back seat, letting instinct kick in.
"Don't move. Any of you. Take one step closer and I'll slit her neck off!" I threatened as Mrs Stevenson shook like a leaf in my hold.Anders signalled the men to lower their weapons. I simply moved through, clearing a path for me.
"Anders, open the fuckin gate. Now!" I yelled, kicking him into action.
The guards at the gate, on his command, opened the big iron gate without any objections.
I saw a black hatch back car standing by the gate. It probably belonged to one of the guards. Perfect!
"Get me the keys! Now!"
One of the men fished his pocket, throwing a pair of keys to me.
I caught them immediately.I gave the keys to Mrs Stevenson.
"Open it. Hurry up!"
She did as was told, opening the drivers seat I grabbed the Keys from her and pushed her harshly to the ground, before diving into the car.
As I was starting the engine, a bunch of bullets were being showered in my direction, followed by Anders yelling.
"Don't shoot you fools!"
But I didn't care.I drove off, not turning back.
