MAVIS's POV-:

I woke up to the smell of a burnt cigar. As I opened my eyes a groan escaped my lips.
I felt like shit.
My whole body ached, especially my head, which throbbed mercilessly.
As my eyes adjusted to the dimly lit room, I realised, I was in a room completely alien to me.
"Mavis, you're awake." I heard a deep, husky voice. I slowly tried to prop myself up against the pillows.

"Taehyung....wh...what happened?" I managed to mumble, still trying to find my voice.
He got up from the single seater couch, placing the cigar between his lips, in the ash tray, on the side table next to him.
He picked up the glass of water on the nightstand next to me and handed it to me.
"Drink up. You need to rehydrate." He said nonchalantly.
I extended my arm out of the blanket that covered me, but that's when I noticed, I was completely naked under the sheets!

"What the hell! Why am I naked!" I shrieked in outrage.
Taehyung rolled his eyes, maintaining an expressionless face, making me look like the crazy one.
"You threw up all over your clothes." He said plainly.
But I didn't buy it.
"You could have dressed me in something else!" I complained.
"I didn't want to." He replied with a smirk.

"Pervert!" I grabbed the first thing I could, which was a pillow, and swung it at him. Of course he dodged it effortlessly.
"Look Mavis, I saved your life yesterday. I don't think it's very polite of you to Chuck pillows my way."
That's when it hit me, like a bus.
Last night. It was an utter disaster.
Rose. She tried to Sell Me!
But wait.
The gunshot! I gasped at the memory and looked at Taehyung.
"You killed him."  He smirked, almost gloatingly.
"You killed Hunter, didn't you?" I whispered, struggling to speak with my parched throat.

He came close to my ear and whispered sinisterly.
"I killed them BOTH."
I gulped at his statement. I wasn't sure if I should cry over the death of my only friend, or be relieved that she and the guy she tried to sell me to, will never be a problem for me again.
But as though it were automatic, a tear slid down my cheek.
Taehyung noticed and cupped my face with his large palms, wiping the tear with his thumb.

"Shhhhh. They aren't worth your tears. They were going to hurt you Mavis. And they wouldn't have stopped, no matter how much you begged. The only solution was to get rid of them. Trust me, you're better off without friends like Rose."
He coaxed me gently.
I knew it was wrong, but in that moment, I let myself go. I sunk my face in his chest and cried it all out.
He was quick to wrap me in his arms, cocooning me from the mix of guilt, sorrow, grief, and relief I felt. For the first time, in a long time, I FELT SAFE.

TAEHYUNG's POV-:

It was too easy.
I held Mavis as she wept in my arms.
I occasionally patted her back, as I enjoyed watching her fall apart in my hold.
She was so vulnerable, I could make her do anything.
She looked so beautiful. Completely lost and helpless. The Perfect Damsel in Distress.
Her eyes were red from crying. Her lips quivered as she struggled to sip water from the glass. Her tiny hands shook as she held onto the glass she drank from.

I felt my cock twitch as I saw her wretched state. She would look so perfect under me, but, I had to wait!
Damn these women and their stupid emotions!
I swear I'll fuck her senseless when the time comes.
"Mavis, how about I run a warm bath for you. You can come join me downstairs for dinner once you're done." I suggested.
She nodded and watched me get up, leaving to fill up the bathtub.
"Which scent do you prefer, lavender or cinnamon?" I asked holding out two scented candles for her to chose from.
"Cinnamon." She answered shyly, playing with her fingers.
Cute.

MAVIS's POV-:

After a delicious dinner of steak and mashed potatoes, Taehyung and I headed to the living room where he drank his whiskey and I opted for some hot chocolate.
"Umm...Taehyung." I called out to him.
He raised an eyebrow as he looked at me.
"Hmmm?"
"Thank you. For everything you've done for me. It really means a lot." He flashed a sweet smile in return.

"Could I stay for the night? I promise I'll leave first thing tomorrow morning, I'm just a little scared to..." before I could finish he interrupted in a hurry.
"You're not going anywhere!" He said forcefully, making me flinch.
He probably noticed and quickly changed his tone to a softer one.
"Mavis, it's not safe for you out there. And I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to you. Look, I'm totally okay with you crashing at my place, as long as you need. Besides, I kinda like having you around. Makes this eerie mansion feel more like home."

I blushed slightly, flattered by his words.
"So, I can stay?" I asked softly.
"Absolutely." He said with a boxy smile.
But one question bothered me.

'Why is he being so kind to you? He doesn't even know you!'
Maybe because he's a nice person!
'Oh please! You of all people should know, everything has a price, so does kindness. Don't be a Naive idiot Mavis!' Mai snapped.

TAEHYUNG's POV-:

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you helping me? Being kind to me? I mean I'm practically a stranger to you." Mavis asked in bewilderment.
"Maybe because I have feeling for you." I retorted charmingly, making her redden.
Technically it wasn't a lie.
I did have feelings for her, twisted, fucked up, destructive feelings, and I knew form the moment I saw her, she would be mine or not live to see another day.
