Be good at life Big campus First time away No experience With opposite sex Opportunities abound Time to date Lots of women Not too successful Before cellphones Until I met Robert Bob was girl magnet And I had the car Girls he attracted Were air heads Until a blind date Cute smart girl That had a brain Roomed in dorm Knew this the one Vincent Price Pit and the Pendulum Bad date movie Next weekend Stood up by that girl Went to Bob's home In small town Nearly died In car accident Saved by safety belt Rare back then Never gave up Called that girl in big town Agreed to continue dating Courtship led to proposal The customary way Presented a ring Before Christmas She said okay Religion difference First big hurdle Parents had to sign She was only twenty Had to wait until Easter No marriage in Lent Wedding happened One week honeymoon To Niagara Falls Five children later Many tough years Retirement now Marriage still going Genuine Love works Your day will come Trust in God Serendipity Will prevail
