These are rhymed and free form poems that express my thoughts on art, science, philosophy, life, love, politics and death as told from a scientist's point of view in some cases. This is poetry book No. 8
The dog is so sad these days He just lies there not moving What makes him sad That is a modern story
That is the ultimate question That has confused philosophers For the longest time It's answers are many but few
Is sadness a psychological problem Or it it a biological reaction We are sad because of loss or hurt But what makes animal sad
Do they emulate what they see in us Or is an intrinsic property of life Is sadness a mental or moral issue Or is it a basic somatic reaction
Maybe it's a spiritual concept Do animals have a spirit Do the sense psychological problems Like we do when we see sadness
The ancients associated feelings to the spirits We compound them into scientific definitions Are we any better than our long ago ancestors Or are we on a course that precludes the past
I think the dog knows more than we realize
A sad dog sketch!
