Happy new year! And happy Valentine's day. If you are on PC, right-click the video, click loop. If there are any spelling mistakes, I'll come back and update, so don't mind the changes. Prepare to see a new side of (y/n) this chapter, and I'm sorry if this chapter is short, another chapter coming soon.
Warning: Angst (If I have actually done it right)
"I'll be fine." Where the last thing (y/n) said, before Max dropped her off, back home. The period of ambient darkness started, approximately the whole day it took for her to be stable, yet still warmer than usual from her sickness.
"School is starting soon, so I'll make sure to check on you." Max reminded, as (y/n) said nothing in return, heading towards the front door of the house, carrying Ship in her arms.
"I'll see you soon, (y/n), get some rest." he was met with silence yet again. With a sign, he closes the passenger's door from where you left, started the engine, and then drove off.
As (y/n) open the locks to her house, her pet had crawled around, sitting on the top of her head, allowing her to open her door to her house, revealing a home, dimmer and cold than usual.
"This is the part mom yells at me," (y/n) stated, lowering herself, placing Ship down for him to roam free. "It always did give her a heart attack when I came around this time..." you trailed off, squinting your eyes in the dark, trying to search for the clock somewhere.
"Where were you!?"
"I went out with my classmates."
"You got back late."
"Only by five minutes," (y/n) argued back "Just thought I'll start over and make friends since you made me move away from my own...!"
"(y/n-)"
"Man, why can't you just let me live my life?"
The tween stomped upstairs to her room, and then a slam of a door was heard.
'Is it now, those bitter memories come flooding back, when you're gone?' you momentarily stared at the dark floor, one hand in your pocket, as the other had found the switch, 'I getting what I deserve, am I?'
The lights flickered on, as the girl managed to find the light, her mouth formed a weak smile, staring at the disaster of a living room, one sofa flipped its back, papers scattered all over the living space.
'This place is still a mess, even without-that was horrible' you stopped yourself from telling the joke.
"Mom must have flipped out when she heard about me going missing." you stepped nearer, stopping, as you came upon a familiar wooden box.
The same box, your mother held so dearly, near the same level as the necklace you now inherited. You haven't one, gave the object a single glance, as it was your way of rebuking your father. Tonight was going to change.
"Forgot that this was still around," You grabbed the music box with both hands, as you made yourself comfortable within the mess of papers. Inhaling carefully, you gradually open the box, expecting a tune to start, only, for nothing to come out.
You shook the box, in a way, seeking to hear the nostalgic tune from a few months ago, to no avail, after a few minutes a trying, you sighed loudly, before placing the box away, your eyes caught on to a familiar chain, one resembling a neckline that you now cherished more than anything.
