Dragon in the Sea.

"Boom" the heart gives in . Part 11

When Drake got behind the wheel he glanced at Sea , his eyes were closed , he looked so frail. You just wanted to protect him at all cost , how come he had such an effect on him? Drake couldn't answer that question. Was it that he finally had a chance to make a friend ...or ...did he actually have some kind of feeling towards him? No , no , no....he shook his head again , stop with this kind of thinking, you don't know what love is so how can you think you have feelings for Sea ,you just like to tease him , he's so cute when he gets shy . Drake smiled , he looked at him again and he seemed to be fallen asleep, probably the medication and the ordeal he went through today were too much . He actually unknowingly cooperated with Drakes plan, he started the car and drove off, a good half an hour later he parked his car at his uncle's driveway. His grandfather was in the garden, watering the plants and was curious who arrived at this hour?

It was about six in the evening , who would come this late for a visit ? Then he recognised the car and in excitement he dropped the water hose and shouted " Drake , what a surprise!!" as fast as his old legs could take him he walked towards Drake who got out and put his arms wide open to welcome his grandfather in a long and heartfelt embrace. There were some tears in his eyes and he kept squeezing his grandson tightly . "Ok ok granddad, maybe give me some air , I'm about to suffocate , that would be a bad thing !" he chuckled . His grandfather laughed " Cheecky boy , you haven't changed a bit , but you grew so tall , you are even bigger than me !" " Come inside , dinner is almost ready , it will be the two of us , your uncle is on a business trip for a week !" Drake smiled and halted his granddad in his stride " The three of us ...!" and he pointed towards the passenger seat of his car were Sea was still fast asleep.

"Who is that son , and why is he so sound asleep?? He looks so pale ?" his grandfather was curious as to who his grandson brought along . "It is a friend of mine , he goes to the same school as me and he had to do a project for school at the beach, so I offered him a lift , but we hit a little snag along the way unfortunately." Drake said. "What happened , is he sick , did he get car sick or something??" his grandfather opened the passenger door and looked at Sea , " We better wake him up and get him inside , why is his foot bandaged??" " Well that was the unfortunate thing that happened granddad , he got stung by a jellyfish and had a kind of allergic reaction to it and also a panic attack ,so he almost drowned, good thing I was still on the beach at that time!"Drake explained. His grandfathers eyes widened in awe "Well that's quite a story , you are a real hero my son , this boy better be gratefull !" he uttered in admiration for his grandsons courage ." Let's wake him up. " his grandfather wanted to shake Sea to wake him up but Drake stopped his arm , "Don't grandfather , I'll take him , he was so tired and he was given some medicine so he probably is real drowsy if you wake him suddenly" Drake stated. His grandfather took a step back and Drake scooped Sea out of the car seat like it was nothing . He asked his granddad to get the backpack and close the car door for him while he carried Sea in the house.

He followed his granddad who showed him the way to the guest bedroom ,Sea's head was snuggled in his nape and the warmth of his breath made the hair on his arms rise , this felt so intimate, he put Sea carefully down on the bed . Sea didn't even blink ,he was feeling this comfy bed underneath him and just sighed with contentment .He tossed a bit around till he was comfortable and smiled in his sleep. Drake's heart went "Boom " like an explosion of feelings , it was suddenly clear to him while holding Sea in his arms, feeling his body close to his, and seeing him lying on this bed looking all fragile he was in no way going to be 'just friends' with Sea , his heart just gave it all away ! His grandfather coached him out of the room "Let your friend rest , we will check on him later , he is safe and just needs to sleep it all off!" he closed the door while Drake was still trying to peek through it till it was completely shut. 

"Come let's just eat something , I'm sure it has been quite a traumatic experience for you seeing your friend almost drown." his granddad said with great empathy. He put his arm around his shoulder and took him to the dining room were the table was already set with a delicious meal . Drake stomache growled at the sight of all these yummy foods. He sat down and started to pile up his plate ..." Easy , take your time , enjoy the food !" his grandfather laughed at his grandson who seemed famished . "So ...tell me ...what is your friends name , and how come you care about him so much , as far as I know you never had a friend before??"  Drake dropped his spoon when he heard this question, did he expose his feelings to his grandfather , he didn't do anything weird , did he ? He hesitated and was looking for a reply , " Well... his name is Sea , and ...euhm , we became friends because I accidently almost ran him over with my car but then I gave him a lift home , so we started talking and became friends" he explained , and he sugarcoated it because they weren't really that close ....yet !

"Well that is also quite a story , first you almost kill him and today you save his life !" his grandfather chuckled . "It's not funny granddad, I was terrified when I saw him going under !"Drake said a little annoyed . "Come come now son ,I didn't mean it like that , I'm sure your friend will certeainly remember how you saved his life instead of the near accident that didn't happen in the end ." he smiled and grabbed Drakes hand to give a soft comforting squeeze in it. "By the way , how is your mom doing ? Still busy with work I guess, she didn't come with you?" "No , she couldn't make it this weekend , but she gave me this , she told me you love sweets and so I had to give them to you "Drake put the chocolats on the table. "She is working most saturdays lately and sometimes even on sunday , so she is really busy , we don't even have time together to have diner . " Drake said with a sad tone in his voice. "That's why I wanted to visit you granddad , I'm always alone and I missed you , so tadaaa, here I am !" he smiled but his eyes were still sad. His grandfather noticed it and thought to himself he needed to have a stern chat with his daughter , his grandson wasn't happy , this matter needed to be resolved! "So I guess you better sleep over tonight , your friend needs some more rest and it is getting late , I will talk to your mom and tell her you'll stay the night , I need to have a word with her anyway !" he said firmly , not letting Drake say no! " Ok granddad , I've finished eating , it was yummy , I will go check on Sea and then I will come chat with you some more , I have lots to tell !"  "Ok son , I'll guess I will call your mother first , see you in a bit , I will be in the garden , I have left all my gardening tools outside , need to put them away or the housemaid will scold me !" he chuckled " She is a real strict lady that one !" Drake laughed , he couldn't imagine his grandfather beeing afraid of a scolding by the housemaid . 

He went back to the guest room and saw Sea was still in a deep sleep , he took his backpack and looked in it , he was searching for his cellphone , he needed to notify Sea's family off course , they probably worried if he didn't go home so he'd better let them know he was staying here for the night . He found the cellphone and pushed the button , he hoped there wasn't a pass code , but luckily the acces to the phone was with a fingerprint . He sat beside Sea on the bed and held the phone to his thumb, the screen lit up and the phone unlocked itself . He found it a bit strange that no one contacted him yet and it was already quite late , didn't they miss him? He  searched his contacts and found he had almost no personal contacts in his phone , the first , his dad and second an aunt ....weird , were is his mom?? He tried calling the father , no answer ,damn , can he call this aunt ?? Better not , maybe the father would call him back later. I'll text him with a short explanation, so he is reassured Sea is safe . He started typing the message and suddenly he felt movement on the bed, Sea had turned around in his sleep and completely unaware his arms slid around Drakes waist who was sitting next to him on the bed . Drake froze , he couldn't even type the words in his mind anymore , it went all blank in his head . He could only feel Sea snuggling against his back . He even heard a deep sigh of contentment leaving Sea's mouth and his arms grasped even tighter around his waist .It was impossible to break free , but Drake's body was numb, he felt his heart race and his hands trembled. He tried to finish the text and pressed send . He put the phone on the nightstand and turned his face to look at Sea ."Boom " there it was again ...the same explosion of feelings ! Drake had lost the battle against his mind , his heart won !
