The heart to heart with dad. Part 25

Sea quickly checked his text before he went inside , he didn't want to risk getting caught in a conversation with his dad and not be able to answer Drake anymore . 'Baby , did you get home safe , I miss you already  <3!'  Sea smiled, he texted back  ' I'm home , your mom said to tell you she didn't murder me on a dark lonely road , she's funny ! Miss you more <3 !' He texted a second one real short ' Talk later , dad is waiting ,love you ' he got one back in a few seconds ' Good luck baby ,LY2' His smile got even bigger . His dad was looking very curious at him , standing in the  doorway with his hands on his hips " What's going on son , why are you so slow ?" Sea put his phone away and went up to his dad " Nothing dad , just got a text , needed to answer that first , let's go inside !" he urged him  to go in. They sat on the couch and both started to talk at the  same time..."Dad I need..." while Steven "That Drake's mom is really...nice!" they both laughed. "What did you want to tell me son , go on." 

"Well ...euh , it's kinda difficult , promise not to be mad at me .." " Why would I be mad at you , there is nothing you can do to make me angry with you ." Sea took a deep breath "Ok then, here goes ...I like Drake dad . " he blurted out . "Well I like him too , he saved you , he's a nice joung man!" Sea smiled , his dad didn't have a clue , bless him , he'd been so long out of the dating scene and wasn't quite up to speed with relationships and stuff . Al he knew was work ,work , work . Sea even believed he was stuck in the past , when his mom died giving birth his dad probably died a little too , he lived on automatic pilot for years, but never lived for himself anymore .His patients and his son were the only thing that kept him going. He had to make it clear for him to understand " Dad , that's not exactly what I meant , I like , like Drake ...as in I love him...I don't know how it happened but it did , and he loves me , he asked me to be his boyfriend ...and I said yes ." he bowed his head , he didn't want to see disappointement in his father's eyes.  There was a long silence ....

"Well ...what can I say , you found someone you love and who loves you back , I know it is not a parents dream , but if you are happy and so is Drake , I can only support you ." "You are my son and I love you , you are just like your mom , she would have been ok with this , she had a best friend in school who was gay and he even introduced us , I secretly think he had a bit of a crush on me , he tried to get close to me through her, but I fell in love with your mom the moment I laid eyes on her ." Sea's dad laughed. Sea finally looked up , he had tears in his eyes . Steven saw his son cry "Why are you crying , you have my blessing , you should be happy !" he said.

 "I'm not crying because of that dad , I miss mom , I never knew her and she seemed to be such a wonderfull person, you say I look like her and also have her personality, so I am sad she died and I got to live ....maybe it should've been....." Steven grabbed Sea by his shoulders " Look at me , don't ever say that , you were loved by your mom for nine whole months , she ate healty , sang to you , took al the vitamins she had to take , she did everything right , it was a horrible twist of fate that took her away from us . But if she could choose , she would have given her life for you every single time , that's how much she loved you !" Sea's dad was very serious .He pulled his crying son in his arms " It's ok Sea , I know I fell short all these years , I should have been there a lot more for you , we both miss her , why don't we go visit her tomorrow , take some nice flowers to her ....do you want to invite Drake , introduce him to her ??" Sea was stunned , did he hear this right ...he could take Drake to visit his moms grave ? 

" Don't you want us to go together ? Is it really ok to ask Drake ?" he was astonished. "We can have our private moment with mom , Drake can join later to pay respect ,I think he wouldn't mind waiting a bit , I bet he will wait for you for an eternity if you ask him to !" Sea blushed " Dad , don't tease me , that's awkward !" he shyly spoke trying to hide his face behind his hands . "Sorry son , I can't help it , my son has his first love , I am entitled to some teasing !" Sea chuckled " Ok but no more then once a day , deal ?" "Only once ....that is not cool , twice , and on days I am at work and don't get to see you , I take those with me to the next day , so I get to tease you four times in a day !" "Da-aaaad stop it !!" "Ok ok , I'll stop....for now !" he winked  , Sea I think we better stop and go to bed , look at the time , we have been talking for more than an hour , it's past one in the morning . You can take a day off from school tomorrow if you want I'll write a note for you ."  "No need dad , I like to go to school , I don't mind less sleep , it's almost weekend , I'll catch up on sleep then !" he said quickly . " Hmmm ....like school you say ..or a certain 'boy' at school ??" he kept teasing . "Dad , all your credits are used for today , it is past midnight so today ...no more teasing !"

Sea said goodnight and went to his room , he held his joy inside in front of his dad but to have his support was amazing , he as well as Drake had some awesome parents ! As soon as he was in his room he started to jump up and down , arms in the air , he then jumped on the bed and rolled left and right, al the time saying to himself " I have a boyfriend , I have a boyfriend...." Then he stopped abruptly and sat up , " Is he still waiting to hear from me??" he looked at his phone , no text from Drake "Should I send him one ??" 

He took his phone , ' Are you still awake ? If not ...goodnight , I love you !' send. He got a reply so fast , he was certain Drake was practically holding his finger on the reply button. He snickered at that thought , so sweet, he's waiting up to hear from me . 'Baby boy , I told you I would wait till you texted me !' he sent . ' That's so sweet , but you will be exhausted tomorrow , sorry it took so long.' ...'Don't apologise , it was a serious matter , I can imagine how hard it was for you !' he replied. 'Yes , it was very emotional ,but you know what , you and I have the most amazing, coolest mom and dad !!!' Sea was waiting for a text , instead he got a call , he quickly picked it up . " Baby , does that mean what I think it means , he is ok with you and me beeing boyfriends??" Drake shouted practically through the speakers ."Keep your voice down crazy boy , you are gonna wake your mom , btw she is the coolest but I'll tell you that some other time , but yeah dad was a little surprised at first , but he told me as long as we love each other and are happy , he'd support us !" Sea was so happy hearing Drake scream with excitement " Babyyyy , you know what I'm doing right now , dancing in my bedroom , I'm sooo happy , if I could I would come over and hug you !" "I would like that too ,but maybe we should go to sleep now,  it wil be morning sooner , and we get to see each other again." "I know , but I just love to talk with you , but you are right , we should go to sleep , sweet dreams baby boy , I love you , it feels so good to say it out loud !"  " Goodnight Drake " " Goodnight my baby boy ." "I love you !"  "I love you more !" "Drake , you hang up first !" "No ...you hang up first !" this went on for a minute or so ,then Sea stopped Drake "Let's just hang up together !" " Ok ,on three....One ...two ....three" As Sea expected , there still came a text . 'Goodnight , love you !' ' Last reply Drake , I love you too , very much , now go to sleep !!' 

Sea was so tired , he just took of his pants and that damn tie , unbuttoned his shirt and didn't even shower or brush his teeth. As soon as his head hit the pillow ,his eyes closed. He was exhausted from al the emotions , love , sadness , anxiety, fear of beeing seperated from Drake . That was a roller-coaster ride today , but at last his heart was enlightened and he could love Drake freely with their parents supporting them. He slept like a baby , dreaming of a future with Drake , he was an architect and build a home for them to live together by the seaside and Sea was a marine biologist and worked at Ocean World . A smile was plastered over Sea's face all night long !!
