Macey

"I'm never leaving my room again!" Macey exclaimed that Sunday afternoon. Quinn sat next to Macey, shaking her head.

"It seriously wasn't that bad, Mac." Quinn argued.

Macey sat up quickly, prepared to argue with her best friend, "I beg to differ. I flirted with him!"

"Isn't that good?" Asked Quinn, visibly confused.

"No, Quinn. That's not good." Macey told her, curling herself up in her blankets. Quinn quickly pulled the covers off of Macey.

"Get it together!" Quinn demanded, clapping her hands, "Paxton clearly likes you, and you're too blind to even see it."

"He does not." Macey countered.

Before Quinn could say anything else, something hit the window. With furrowed eyebrows, Macey went to the window to see none other than Paxton. Her eyes widened as she quickly closed the curtains. Down on her front lawn, Paxton was extremely confused.

"What was that?" Quinn questioned.

"Nothing." Macey lied, "A bird hit the window."

"Is it ok?!" Quinn asked worriedly.

"Yup, he's great." Macey replied with a forged smile.

"Don't assume the bird's gender." Quinn warned, sighing at Macey, who had became extremely anxious in the passing seconds. Macey grabbed her phone, opening instagram and going to Paxton's profile, hitting the 'MESSAGE' button.

To Paxton: what are you doing on my front lawn??!

Paxton: well hello to you too

To Paxton: im so serious rn

Paxton: ok chill.

Paxton: I just wanted to see if you were ok, and your mom's car is here.

To Paxton: so standing in the middle of my front lawn, which also happens to be right in front of my living room window, is better??

Paxton: this feels like a trap...

To Paxton: it is.

To Paxton: but im ok, just embarrassed asf, but im good so you can get off my lawn now :)

Paxton: well I'll see you at school tomorrow i guess

To Paxton: i guess so

"Dude, who are you texting?" Quinn asked abruptly, pulling Macey from her thoughts. Her eyes met Quinn's confused, brown ones.

She tried to stir up a lie in her mind, but the only thing she could say was, "No one."

Quinn only nodded, skeptical of the brunette in front of her, but went along with it. Macey then ran over to the window to see Paxton's jeep turning the corner, leaving her street. She let out a breath of relief, plopping down on the bed next to Quinn.

"What is it?" Quinn questioned, furrowing her seemingly perfect eyebrows.

"Just checking to see if the gender-less bird is still okay." Macey lied, mentally face-palming herself for the horrible lie. But somehow, it was a good enough lie for Quinn to believe. Quinn just smiled, the two's eyes meeting once again. Nervousness soon started to rise in Macey as Quinn smiled down at her, looking perfect--as usual.

Oh shit.
